I found this keyword with 3600 searches / month but I am not sure if I can rank it with the competition on page one, ebay, harborfreight, homedepot etc. All pages have no or very few links but I am not sure if the domain authority counts for much.
Any advice appreciated. Thanks

I would stay away. I'm not sure for certain, but I can sort of tell what type of keyword it is from what you didn't blur out. You'll have trouble ranking unless you are selling the product on your own site (as an e-commerce store yourself).

Also, Harbor/Northern are usually bad news because they are optimized for their products so well. The exception would be if you click on these pages and the product isn't even available on them, but that's really rare when Harbor or Northern are in the top 10 because they are optimized so well. I've never come across a keyword in that general niche that didn't have steep competition - stopped looking.

hmmm,

one keyword eh?

there are other platforms to compete for that, you can get it for a penny PPC rather than just gunning it with seo

See if those pages actually mention the keyword. I've seen it happen a lot where authority sites rank for a lack of better options, but they are unrelated as well, to the point of not mentioning the keyword or any synonyms.

I would stay away from this keyword. DA does matter. Try adding some modifier to the keyword and check the metrics again.

Yes they all list the product on the page.

Not the exact keyword but variations of it.

I think I will drop it and move on.

Thanks for the advice guys
