Hi Guys,

I have an expired domain which I hav been uploading content too for a few weeks now, I wanted to see if was indexed so used the site:domain.com and it has all the pages there. I tried one of my low quality KWs and browsed to page 50 no sign. Rack checker tools do not show anything either.

I have went through link profile within an inch of its life and no sign of spam also archives all look good too. Webmaster tools is showing no errors, warnings. Site map showing as all in index just not all the images.

I have the link juice keeper plugin installed to prevent lossing previous links

As for link building I have built a few high quality web 2.0s which are all ranking for the keyword and the anchor text is just the url

I also got guest post link which also ranks for the keyword but still no sign of my page.

It seems like a penalty but can't understand why or what to do...

Any ideas?

Cheers
Joe

Put google analytics on it
see what they say
If there is a penalty for any reason
inform them you have just bought the site and can they tell you what to do
No need to tell them you know its an expired domain, lol

google analytics says its getting organic traffic, but not provided for keyword

If you're not seeing your site with a site:domain.com search on Google, you are facing some serious issues.

Check your technical SEO for something that might be preventing Googlebot from crawling your site:
  • noindex tags in your meta
  • disallow: / in your robots.txt
  • make sure your sitemap is submitted

If everything like that is in line, it could be a penalty. Take a look at your site with archive.org's wayback machine and see if the domain looks spammy. Check GSC for manual actions. Search for your content with copyscape.com or in quotes on Google. Look at historic backlinks using marjestic or ahrefs.

I'm in the same boat as you, just read somewhere that it could be the theme we are using that has footer links.
I just changed my theme today and will see if I get any results.

It can be found with site:

All set to index

No manual penalty

No spammy content previously or links

:)

nothing in serps lab either

Im so puzzled

Probably your expired domain anchor profile have nothing to do with keywords you want to rank. Thus, your site is not sending signals to algorithm that it should be ranked for keywords you are targeting. Furthermore it can be your on-page SEO.
It can be many things but I am sure it is not connected with attribution link in footer (as suggested by a person in this thread).

Tin foil much?
lol no really but look it up man, I might be wrong but I've noticed some changes lately. We can never be 100% sure in this business, all we're doing is beating a freeaking algorithms, so it's all up to interpritation.

I am 100% sure.

It wasn't the footer links as @SkyrocketSEO said.
I'm thinking maybe it's the keyword density on posts? But yoast seo plugin says it's all good.
What keyword density are you using?

So guys though had this sorted, when i checked density it was at 2.5% I nearly fell off my chair, brought it down to 1.8% and it showed up on page 4... I expanded the reveiw a little to lengthen the post a little 1700 words +, keyword density 1.3% and 24 hours later its dropped again.

Nowhere to be found, this is so frustrating, any ideas
