I use VPS for hosting large site, If your planning is big and you can achieve it then use VPS otherwise any normal shared hosting is ok for you.

Bluehost and armind still good for shared hosting and vps small.

If you make 50,000 articles database, I never used arminds $ 5 package

Starting small / bit up from small. Sharkservers from here are good. Don't know about their more advance packages, as I don't go that big. But if they are anything to go by off their shared hosting, probably great.

By far the best hosting I have ever used for shared hosting.

Plans are full-featured and uptime is high and support is online around the clock.

HOstgator is cool

Host gator still good imho. But there are better providers out there.
