Is it worth trying to report a competitors PBN to G and try and get them slapped with a manual action?

I've got two cases where I could do this and make some significant financial gains from it. I know it's a pretty asshole move and I'm willing to accept that.

One case is a local SEO opportunity. The top competitor is a national brand but from my research they are ranking based on a few spammy backlinks purchased 4 years ago and they haven't done anything since. It's very easy to discover their backlinks and very easy to tell they are paid for and spammy. My plan there is create a PBN and spend time to rank a business I have connection to and when they start ranking then report the top competitor to G and try get them slapped. Only problem is I think they'd try and come back stronger. They have a decent amount of money but killing their rankings would definitely scare them.

The other is a PBN I uncovered while doing keyword research. I found a low comp keyword with 20k searches per month with affiliate sales opportunities as well as adsense recommended bid of $6, Companies are paying for adwords quite competitively. The guy ranking number 1 is ranking solely off an 10 site PBN which is obvious as hell. All his expired domains are not niche related and he's used the same theme + spun content on all of them. It's blindingly obvious. Plus all his expired domains are only DA15 ish. It's pretty weak sauce and I have a tonne of DA27/DA28 expired domains that I could do a lot better with. I estimate he's making around $300 ~ $400 a month off this site, so it's well worth it for me to consider building a far higher quality PBN then trying to kill him by reporting him to G. I try to go for highest quality that would pass a manual review.

Is it too much of a dick move? I believe in being ruthless to win. Interested in the communities input.

That sums it all up.

Yes.

And I believe in karma.
Karma might be me coming in and disrupting these guys. You never know what terrible people they might be.

Ok, I get it. I'm gonna be hated on for this. That's all good. Cash is king. Last time I was ruthless to win I did it for years and it sure earned me some enemies but boy did I win.

Personally I think the dick move is asking people on a forum for their opinion. You either do it or you don't.
As long as you are aware of the consequences, what does anybodies else's opinion have to do with it.
BTW, yes it is a dick move, you need to ask yourself are you a big enough dick to do it.

Believe me, if you were on top of them in SERP, they will report you. That's the game bro. REPORT AND SLAP THE FUCKERS BLOCKING YOUR MONEY!!!

It doesn't mean you have to do it on the hypothesis they would do it.
My neighbor is going to kill me possibly one day, shall I do it first ? -> That's your very reasonning

Not something i would do, i know its easy to say i wouldn't but i know 100% i wouldn't. I would just build a better PBN and outrank the guy. Actually i'd relish the challenge.

Also a believer in Karma - fuck if i kill a fly you can guarantee i'll fall down the stairs at some point afterwards.

No, it is a vagina move.

If you know how your competitor is outranking you and you still can't beat him, I'll take you as a competitor of mine any day.

Lmao. Gotta give me more than a day and half to try outrank him buddy haha.

Don't mind but we get such kind of dicks and assholes reporting our clients PBNs to G. You won't even believe what happened to them... to cut the the long story short...they left Internet Marketing for good. We did something to them/their business or Karma caught up with them is a debatable issue.

It's just sheer curiousity. Heck I'd jump at the chance to do it. I'm building up my offensive as we speak.

Nothing wrong asking the question. I got some good answers.

I wish you nothing but awful luck in the future if you plan on doing that.

Actually there is as your thought process, when turned into a thread, is not something that the management allows here.

Just fuck him up. Why would you even care about asking people. Do what you have to do to succeed.

I don't mind doing that from morality point on view, but its much better beating them at their game, if we get them down by reporting they can replicate and come back easily

There are two types of guys on top:

a) The ones that are just better than anyone else at this exact moment. No matter how blatant their PBNs are, how spammy their backlinks are. Those are your competitors, and they are better than you right now. If I weren't able to outrank something like that with ease, I would just quit.

b) The ones that aim to be better than anyone else, but are unable to improve. So they start talking shit about their competitors, hoping that would make them the best ones by elimination.

And honestly, someone good enough to fully hide his footprints, won't need to take option b)

I remember what someone told me when I was a child: "I never start a fight because I don't know how crazy the other guy is".

you can report but google will do nothing. if anyone can slap competitor with a report then there would be no affilate sites in serp, and the only thing that google would do is handle with thouthands of reports each hour
