So where can I find some detailed info on why this guy or that guy got banned? Do we have some sort of Blacklist or Wall Of Shame on the website?

There is a lot of banned users with 300+ 600+ and 1000+ posts and I wonder why. You know, out of curiosity. It would be a great example for the newbs too, definitely more interesting than reading every rule.

Newbs can learn how to follow the rules by reading about those who broke them!

Often it is because they were a scammer.

I don't think bans are generally mentioned unless they arise from being shitlisted.

You can browse through the shit list section for lolz and tears.

Don't you think that being banned is enough without rubbing their noses in it by listing them on a wall of shame

Well, I'd assume they did something shameful to get banned in the first place. But maybe you are right, we should respect the scammer's feelings. :D

I disagree with this. Scammers have no rights and deserve to be humiliated. If being banned from a forum for stealing money is the worst punishment you can think of, you'll be shocked when I tell you about where they send some people, just for pirating movies.

Well easy mate. We are not going to throw eggs at their front yards. Isn't it entertaining though, when scammers get shamed? Don't you get a little kick out of it?

Yeah the shit list is mostly young users. What I meant is that sometimes I am browsing here and I come accross X user who has more than 1000 posts and I think "well this guy has contributed a lot to the forum, I wonder why he got banned",

Out of sheer curitosity I would like to know. I've even seen one that had tutorials with dozens of thank yous and very useful guides. But can't recall the names now

But besides curiosity, it would be a good way to bring out awareness to some common scam practices on the forum. Specially since a lot of the victims on the shit list forum are also newbies like me, who don't know why people are getting banned.

I was just thinking this, makes me cautious being new lol I don't want to do something wrong it would be nice to see why other people got banned. So far I know craigslist talk and e whore talk aren't really allowed *cough fuck craigslist* hehe

Bans are confidential except in the case the original reason was made public (e.g shitlists). Normally, a member is banned if they break the rules 3 times for minor/medium offenses, and only once for more serious offenses (not including a few warnings). It doesn't really matter to us if you have 10 posts or 1,000, the rules are the rules. Nothing really interesting to know about the majority of bans to be honest.

^ Follow these and you'll likely never see the banstick.

We should have a leaderboard for the people with the most infractions.

I bet $10, that not only am I #1, but I have more than 1 account in the top 10.

I am the best lounge troll you guys have ever seen.

3.7 Engaging in content that harasses, degrades, intimidates or is hateful toward an individual or group of individuals on the basis of religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age, or disability.

I assume this is you then. Can't be scam if they let you keep coming back. And look, you mention archon10, a banned user on your profile. Is that you?

Members are banned for a variety of reasons.

It is important to note that the staff of BHW never bans anyone
arbitrarily. There is ALWAYS a justifiable reason.

Dude.....first off, mind your own business. The only people who the ban concerns is the mods and admins.

Second off....find something better to do then go through posts of banned members trying to figure out why they are banned. How about trying some of the information posted on this forum instead of completely wasting your time and precious brain energy.

Its not hard to not get banned..... Like seriously common

While Archon10 and Ste Hughes are both outspoken, they're 2 different people.

Butthurt much? You are in this thread posting a comment aren`t you? Follow your own advice

Don't know why I am getting a backlash here, did I touch on a sensitive topic? If feels like the PC police doesn't allow thrashing scammers.

I sure don't care about Ste or other dudes whom I assume get banned for minor stuff. I only mentioned because it would keep people up to date with the latest scams. But all good, let's move on from this, good day guys

If you run a forum this size you have to put in place systems that minimize headaches.

As the owner/administrator of the website you are perfectly entitled to ban users who have contravened your terms of service.

If you start listing publicly specific reasons why you banned a named user you are leaving yourself open to arguments/counter arguments and at worst legal challenges.

So best off just stating 'user banned' for all banned users.

There is always Google cache if you are that curious.
