How to Monetize a Magazine?

Hey Guys,

Looking for some advice on how to monetize a magazine.
What's being done currently is that the magazine is being circulated for free and my client looks for interested parties who'd want to advertise through the magazine.
Emails are also gathered through Linkedin and social media for newsletter sending.
I'm looking into Kindle to see how it could work there. Your expert ideas are highly appreciated!

if magazine has site you should send people from email to the site
on the site you may have banners of your local business that will pay you to advertise
if you do not have anyone like that right now, you can put banners from online networks on cpm/cpc/cpa etc and then approach businesses to sell your spaces

if you already have a big list of subscribers and rotation of magazine is good you're got everything you need

you use the app store android or apple, offer it for free, then sell affiliate crap in it according to the niche, that's the best use of "content" instead of posting it on websites.

With the app store, there's SO little competition with content like magazines etc, and you can offer monthly editions with affiliate links. Easy 30k a year doing that for fun.

you can also add adsense or other mobile networks to show ads within app

Print
For print you'd either charge for the copies or have classifields type of ads from the niche that the mag is into. Moreover, you could also offer freebies in exchange for info and sell these leads to companies looking for it.

Digital
For the email part, just become an affiliate of products that the niche is interested in. You could do CPM, CPA, Amazon affiliates etc.

Thanks for the valuable advice, I've never imagined marketing the magazine through apps.
Which apps would you recommend, will it be like a similar approach to content locking?
