How to keep your KW at 1%?

Hi, I a little bit confused when it comes to keeping the main keyword at 1% around the website.

Should it be 1% for every article or 1% in total for the website? For example, do picture tags, category names, menus count too?
What if you have a Woo Commerce website where the kw is repeated on every product?

And if you have a long keyword, doesn't it sounds weird repeating it 20 times in a 2000 word article? Thank you

Ideal keyword density is 2%.
But you can use keyword where it is necessary and makes sense while reading,it is not the rule to use 2% in every article.
In picture tags,menu's it is like an anchor text.Anchor text will not be counted.

The main things to focus on are the <title> and <h1> elements. I wouldn't worry about keyword density too much.

Like others have said, you want to go with 2%. But LSI keywords are going to help fill the gaps. LSI keywords are related keywords that are not the same exact thing as your main keyword. This looks natural in Google's eyes. In reality you need to keep it as natural as possible in order to gain good rankings. You simply won't find the success you're looking for if you have higher than 2% keyword in your post or page. Also it's good to mention that Google cares less and less about this anyway. They want to see lots of LSI keywords before they care as much about your main keywords.
