Microsoft confirms there will be no Windows 11

they made a worse OS ever and they called win10, so now maybe they are looking for a new name to their next OS but definitely not win11, or win 12,

Windows XP and 7 are the best OS in the market.
I think they can upgrade it like XP+ and 7+ .
Windows got huge loss from windows 10 OS.
So,they decided clearly no new OS like 11 or 12.

I'm not sure, maybe they see it has worked for apple, and figured it could help them? the only thing that concerns me, no matter how big microsoft will be, surely there profit comes from people going out and physically buying the new operating system, so now what they will charge us for windows updates?

Nah, not that many people physically purchase a Windows CD or would have a clue how to do a complete install. That's what your local tech guy down the market is for. It's a totally different market and mindset to Linux where you download the CD and install everything yourself.

When you purchase a new PC, part of the cost of the machine is having a Windows license attached to it.

The real money for Microsoft is the fact 99% of the world uses it and they can bundle in Explorer, Bing, Office, Outlook, Excel and all the other stuff. Unfortunately, a smarter and more tech savvy population is beginning to usurp this. The fact Chrome is the worlds most popular browser is a huge testament to that.

I think we're getting to the point where operating systems don't actually need large scale graphical updates anymore. The days of switching from Windows 3.1 to 95 are long past and I guess it's more about incremental improvements as technology and new services come on-line. Windows 8 was a complete cluster fuck and only proves the point that most people don't want change, they just want stuff to work.

Something Apple figured out quite a few years ago!

Well, if it becomes to sucky, we can always move to Ubuntu, right. I'm still sticking to 7 and I'll probably do so until I buy a new machine with 10.

What they are basically saying is that they are going to start charging everyone a monthly subscription for using Windows OS.

And you will always find Windows on torrents lol along with genuine activation software as well. I still love Win 7 and I'm not changing it for a while, at least not until they stop supporting it. I did the same with XP - that OS was fucking amazing. Win 7 is good too, but I used Win 8 for a couple hours and then formatted it and changed back to 7 again. 8 reminded me of Vista, which was even more terrible. It looks like Microsoft has a pattern with releasing OS-s, where they produce a good one and then completely fuck up the next release. At the end of the day, if you have a good AV and are not a complete retard when using the internet, it doesn't really matter what OS you use, except for using new Windows software that gets developed of course. But, at the moment, most software (current and future developments) supports Win 7.
