Does this mean I have to build backlinks and do seo for every lens I do as if the lens promoting the site is actually the same as promoting the site itself?

Even the "health check says." ooo you need to promote this...

Does it help with views, backlinks what?

A few points.....

1) Squidoo rules are changing... They're just about ready to "get tough" on lenses.
2) It's just a web page. Of course you need to promote it (i.e linkwheel)
3) IDon't think too narrowly. Figure out the "global view" of what your wanting to do
4) Ping the page ONCE.. But only after your happy with it and you have a couple social bookmarks pointed to it.



I treat squidoo, hubpages, bukisa, etc., etc., etc. pretty much the same.... They're "touchstones" that I can use to accomplish a goal. The is converting traffic. In order to do that I build up my "global view" of my link strategies. A==B==Moneyp[age, linkwheel network, matrix, etc. This way I can keep track of what I'm doing and know that it's going to payoff in the end.

I DOUBLE and TRIPLE CHECK my "global view". Making sure I don't do something stupid that'll get the money site banned, etc.

then I execure... A few pages per day (the numbers change, I make it look random). the number of bookmarks, junk links to the outer points, higher PR to the money site, etc.

I promote every lens I make and for the most part, even if you pick a topic that other people have covered, with a little promotion, you can surpass their lens.

Don't get suckered into the mentality that all you have to do is add the lens to related groups on Squidoo - treat it like a regular site, get some external links (bookmarking, blog comments, and all that other regular stuff) and it should work for you.

Global View is how I term drawing a graph that represents your money site, incoming links from your hub/squidoo/bukisa/whatever pages, the links that you generate to those pages, etc. etc.

It's important because it helps keep you organized, and people tend to be very visual. So when you simply have your strategy laid out visually it makes it easier for you to see where your at, where you've been, where you want to go.

I do linkwheels on different levels but it's like level 1 site empire (under a domain) the level 2 web 2.0 sites (blogger, squidoo etc) level 3 forums etc, and then it gets more complicated, and yh squidoo dont just go to the top of google like magic

I have also as you will see use Squidoo as a platform to publish our online newsletters.

This way although it doesnt look that cool cause we dont own squidoo eventually the people we discuss in the newsletters will keep coming back and thus creating more traffic to the lens right?

We basically review new talent in TV right? So we right a review about them and post it.... we used to do it on an email only... but we found the talent like to be able to keep our review of their work to use in their own marketing hence bingo more traffic.

Ok Obi Wan I have done what you asked.

I have added backlinks to the lens from PR4 sites
I have keyword intensely focused on them
And I have had 450 visits to it in the last 2 days..

Still no index whatsoever with G... what a load of tosh and what am I missing..

I can see other peoples lens ranking dammmit

A couple things.... The Big G is really putting the hammer to squidoo right now... I think your lens may be caught up in that mess.

Squidoo is also tightening up their rules, getting ready to delete anything and everything they think is spam, etc. It's gonna be ugly.

Check your ranking on YHell, Bing, etc. and see if your showing up there.

Also, go to www.pingler.com and ping your squidoo page and 4 or 5 of your backlink posts and see if it doesn't show up on G tomorrow sometime.

Lately I've been morphing my linkwheels and adding wetpaint, hubpages, and knol.. I can guarantee you the knol pages index immediatly.

So Sick of Squidoo. It was like Clockwork, As soon as I got a sale from one of my squidoo pages 3 days later the lense was closed. Seriously this happend 4-5 times and exactly 3 days later the lense was gone. :/

yahoo seems to like the squid and G likes hubpages now. Submit it to feedagg too That indexes pretty good and will get some traffic (was the only love google gave to my lens)

I haven't seen any hubpages listed either. Could you give me an exmaple of a keyword that brings up a hubpage?

Can't give a keyword but my hub has been all over the 1st page in G for the last week.
Thing is I was focusing on my squid lens with a linkwheel and its #2 in yahoo but nowhere near the top on G.

My keyword started with around 12,000 pages listed when searched in "quotes" now its 360,000.

I guess I had better get my ass busy before it gets taken over.

I found a neat trick...

1. Create your pages and add your html links on the useless squid site.

2. Got to hubpages and create a hub

3. Cntl copy all the content from your squid page and VOILA all your links are intact and present on the pages.

Then sit and see if any of them get indexed.

Normally you cannot add html or I cant anyway on Hub pages.
