I'm really confused about keyword density in articles. I have a website with articles which include keywords. For the Onpage SEO I use Yoast. Yoast shows me that I have a keyword density of 0.4%. According to Yoast this is a little bit too low. When I use other tools, like: http://tools.seobook.com/general/keyword-density/. It shows me that I have a keyword density of 2.94%. This really confuses me.
I'm aware of the fact that Yoast only checks the density from the article, while the other tools checks the keyword density from the whole page.
The keyword exist out of three words, for eg. best shavers 2016.
Article is 1098 words long.

Note that Yoast only reports that the kw is include 4 times and the other tools reports that it is included 11 times. Outside of the article I've used the keyword only 1 time as title and the other time in the url. For testing purposes I even removed the keyword from the meta description!!
I don't understand why Yoast says the kw density is too low and the other tool says that it is too high!! Anybody that can explain to me which one is correct?
PS: I know some people are saying that keyword density doesn't matter at all, however I believe that it is one of the main reasons why my pages are not shown up in the google top 300.
