Sorry my opionion.

Good luck man, Crohn's is terrible. If it doesn't work out you can just nuke them so definitely worth a shot.

Some people seem rather flippant in this thread. I feel for the OP. I went in for a surgical consult (not for Crohn's). There was a pretty young (20ish) woman in the waiting room. She weighed maybe 70 lbs. We got to talking. Turns out she has Crohn's and had 5 surgeries within the past year. Most of the surgeries were to correct for previous surgeries. Her second to last surgery was months earlier. The surgeon didn't button her up properly so she went septic and almost died. When I was speaking to her she hadn't eaten any food for months. She had a feeding port she would plug in all night. I felt so bad for her. Crohn's varies from person to person, but it looks to be a most horrible disease. If hookworms work that would be awesome. God bless you OP.

Keep us updated!

Do explain?
I have been given countless drugs, different surgeries etc.. nothing is working.
It's easy to sit there and say that when you don't have to live with it everyday.

Automatically dismiss something because you don't understand it.

I'm sure if you suffered daily and a treatment with almost no possible side effects that could improve your quality of life, you would give it a shot.

Dude, I am not dismissing anything, I was suggesting an alternative treatment if the hookworms don't work out.

Good luck with it Mate.

I understand where you are coming from OP, I hope this works out for you.

Others wont understand and will say rude shit.

Then my apologies, saw "sell your own shit" and thought you were having a little dig :D

I can understand where most people are coming from and first thoughts about it, I had them myself.
Like I say, once you read into a little more it doesn't seem so alien and actually starts to make sense.

All new medicines, treatments, therapies etc.. seem strange at first.

I hope it works out for you. I'm fortunate to have good health, but close family members don't have the same luck as me. I know that feeling of wanting to do anything to make yourself/someone else feel better. Best of luck.

For those who don't know and just think this is some weird and backwards practice let me give you a quick laymen rundown of what an autoimmune disease is, and how this is supposed to work.

To put it as simple as possible, an autoimmune disease is when your body start to attack itself. Honestly this can happen for any number of reasons but one major theory for why they are so prevalent in first world countries is because we are too clean.

The human body has evolved for thousands of years to resist all of the germs and parasites that it would have to deal with, that got picked up as you go through life. Everything from hookworms, to tapeworms, to all sorts of viruses and bacteria. But, only in the past couple of hundred years have we been clean enough to fight off almost all of those.

And while that's a good, we don't get sick as much and we live longer, some people's bodies are having a harder tie adjusting. From an evolutionary standpoint 200 years might as well be the blink of an eye after all. So the body gets "bored" in a sense (in much the same way a bored child gets destructive) and it start to attack any benign source that causes it any slight irritation. With allergies it's the allergen itself that the body is reacting too, in crohn's disease it's food, bacteria, and even the lining itself of the intestines.

By inoculating himself with mostly benign hookworms, it'll give that regions immune system "something to do" in a sense (handing that child a video game to keep em busy). Seeing the hookworms as a bigger threat the immune system will start to attack those, and in theory relieve him of most, and in a few cases all, of his symptoms.

Was reading about this in the local paper just last week. Was doing wonders for her a few months in...hopefully the same for you. Not sure I could ever face it myself.

I'm actually mindblown by this.

Should definitely keep us updated :D

Well go and fuck a hooker and get some AIDs, see if that helps.

You have just given yourself a parasite for fucks sake. Fucking worms are growing in your body and your Dr was probably useless, because this is the most retarded thing he had heard of for a while and he believes in Evolution, where the stupid kill themselves off.

I don't even know what to say to that. Literally one of the most stupid fucking comments I have seen on this forum since signing up.

I hope you get better with this treatment :) Keep us posted about the journey of these worms :)

I'm with you bud, people honestly don't even understand Crohn's in the slightest. A lot of people think a drug is an answer to everything but don't know the slightest thing about Humira, the most profitable drug in the world.

How is it going?

Coming to almost a month since I infected myself. Have seen small improvements. Won't be until around the 3 month mark when they should really start to kick in.
It could be that my first dose wasn't enough. I took 25, some can have 5, 10 and others in the hundreds. Just have to play it by ear and see how I get on.

Thanks for asking

It's becoming more and more popular every year, can only hope they start bringing it in the light.

What exactly is Chrohn's Disease?

I thought hookworms messed you up.. Then again, all of us have some sort of worm in our stomachs lol.

I used to smoke a lot of weed, and it made me really anxious - to the point where I thought I had an array of diseases.

I stopped smoking for a week and felt 100% normal.. Leading me to believe it was a mental lock.

Shit sucks, but mind over body!

Definitely fascinated to know if you find personal benefit from this experiment. It seems a bit archaic, but with child slavery, bubonic plague, the crusades, and everything else going on in the modern day - why not try a medieval remedy? I currently imagine we are at the intersection of the 7 most recent half-centuries, so this crap will probably work for you about as well democracy has for America.

Hookworms? You know anyone can write anything online, right?

I have some serious stomach issues, but doctors never figured it out. Got tested for Crohns disease among other things and doctors are clueless. I basically just live with it every day. I don't think I'll infect myself with worms until I get a definite diagnoses, but Interesting read.

1: Already have seen improvements and I'm not even a month in.
2: It's hardly medieval. 50 years ago there were plenty of parasites, Bactria etc.. in the body. Modern medicine and just naturally becoming more hygienic has gradually killed them off.
3: I'm big enough to look into things properly, don't worry.
