Will Amazon ban for wrong rating on affiliate site?

I'm adding in the current ratings in my tables for amazon products, 4.2, 3.9, etc..

These change over time, do I need to constantly update these? Will amazon ban if they do a review of the site and it has the wrong rating?
I'm thinking I should play it safe and leave these out the table
Advise please...

I would use THEIR feed/links or I would only show a pic of the item and a link that says "See Product Details on Amazon". Way too many people get whacked for shit like that on Amazon. Most common is the price issue. Or someone claiming the price is lowest, etc... I stay FAR AWAY from it. Personally I only use pics of products and OBVIOUS text that says they will go to Amazon if they click this link. That's another thing they nuke for; someone not saying that if you click on a link (any kind of link) the user will go to Amazon (provided you are not using their ads/links).

Others will tell you they don't do any of that and have never been nuked. Personally I don't like taking that risk. I'm not that lucky! LMAO

Instead of saying like "Amazon Rating: 4.2/5", you can simply say "Our Rating: 4.2/5" and you should be safe.
You can also use their API to update ratings but the API can be only be called a few times per minute so you'd have to set up a cron job to automatically query Amazon every hour and update the rating value in your database.

Damn do I really need to go back and edit all these links so they say they will go to the Amazon site? I kinda just skimmed through their terms, and I'm thinking I don't have to do this as long as when visitors hover their mouse over a link that it clearly shows the amazon url and I'm good to go?

Hey, I'd rather go through all of it again and put in more hours of work no matter how tedious than have my site ranking well, beating competition and then BOOM BITCH AMAZON BANS BECAUSE AMAZON CAN. Seriously though, why risk it. You've worked hard, work some more. Don't let a few hours of laziness put your website at any kind of risk.

You are probably OK by directly linking to them BUT as for me, I make sure there's no question. Up to you of course.

You're right. And after going back and reviewing several dozen amazon affiliate sites more than half of them do make it obvious that their going to amazon when clicking the link.

After reading the terms it seems like you just need the affiliate disclaimer in one page, the privacy policy. As far as affiliate links it just need to be visible in the url that its an amazon link. But amazon seems to be a tricky program so like you I will make sure their is no questions, affiliate disclaimer on every page in the footer and affiliate link button that clearly says 'buy from amazon' after every link or link saying 'buy from amazon', wont take to long to edit all my links. Read to many threads in this forum and different forums with accounts getting banned, not chancing it with amazon...

Yeah...That's the right attitude. You don't have to say "buy" either. As long as you make it clear they are going to Amazon, it's all good. I make a lot of "homemade" ads with my graphics, and I'll just have a button that says "See What's For Sale at Amazon". PLAIN TEXT. Do NOT use their logo or the Amazon swoosh or anything. Just plain text. It works just fine.

And I would NEVER make a site with prices on it. Never. Just link to an individual product or an Amazon page with a whole bunch of products on it.
