Yesterday, I stumbled upon a Wordstream article which was about the most expensive keywords

http://www.wordstream.com/articles/most-expensive-keywords

I was shocked to find that highest CPC is about $54!!

Seriously? Get a visitor to click an ad on your website, and get $54?

Then an idea clicked in my mind.

Why don't we create an website on the niche "insurance" (highest paying cpc) and make beermoney making people (https://www.reddit.com/r/beermoney/) click the ads?

They will be happy to receive $1 for just clicking an ad, and we can bank $200 per day by just 4 CLICKS!!

Do you think this method would work? Why/Why not?

Thanks!

Blackhatters, Any thoughts?

Nope, it doesn't work like that. $54 will be the amount advertiser is paying to Google. What google pays to you (the publisher) will be a lot low.

How much does google pay?

Man dude it doesnt work that way..the buyer who clicks needs to buy and only then the advertiser is ready to pay that amount to you...if it were so easy then we would have millionaires by now :)

The CPC may be about Adwords on the SERP only, it is not about Adsense

Why so much effort? There are so many easy ways to get banned!

How much does google pay?

Publishers get 68% in Adsense.

So a $54 big may earn you $36 Only.

Also the $ it depends on other factors like -

1) Top bid for #1 spot at that time - If the #1 spot needs only $20/click, then no advertizer will pay $54 :D so In such a u get 68% of $20 = $13.5 or so
2) Premium publisher - If you are a Premium publisher (serving millions of page views a month), highest paying ads will show on your site.

Also, Google reserves highest earning ads for its homepage as its 100% of their revenue and the lesser ones for premium publishers and then the lowest ones for normal publishers.

Not only that, if ads on your site dont convert too well then your adsense gets smart prices.

In the end you get pennies lol

Lol the visitor need to buy something expensive and we can get that amount.

That's not how it works. You cannot just create a site and automatically be given top paying ads. Even when you are able to work your way up there, you cannot determine what ads show up on your site in the way you're describing. You need to have a large amount of unique visitors, page views, and clicks per month for adsense to give your website credibility that it won't give to others.

OP: The why not is because insurance terms are HARD to rank for and get traffic to. You want $50/click? You better have TONS of niche traffic. And thats an expensive niche to rank in and get traffic for.

And if you HAD that much insurance traffic you could probably get better profit from it than plain old Adsense.

Its good to brain storm though. No question is a bad question.
