[ADVICE REQ] Instagram Spam Block - Can't change link!

Instagram blocked my account from changing the link because it was detected as a spam link as the link I was using was an Affiliate offer that was probably reported at one point.

When I login to the account, I click Edit Profile, and remove the Website link.

It doesn't allow me, and instead, I get this error:

Instagram Error: "We're unable to save your changes due to an automated spam block. If this is a mistake, accept our apologies for the inconvenience."

What should I do to get around this error? I am trying to remove the link and it gives me this error.

I have this same issue with one of my accounts. I can't remove the link, and i can't even change it to something i know is acceptable like google.com or facebook.comI tried deactivating my account for a bit, it did not work. However It was only deactivated for less than 24h so i am going to wait a week(As that's how long they require) and then try again :/I'll update this thread if anything new happens-SH

Any help guys? this is tough no way around it. I even changed the short url link to a different landing page linking to a random facebook page and it still hasn't gone away. It has been 3 days. I am still blocked from changing the link. Even when posting pictures, I am not allowed to post caption or anything in the post.

Remove your bio, link and also change your username. There can be some words in your bio or username that can also be causing the spam block.

Had this issue for more than 2 months so ye...I don't think there is a fix for this. I even mailed instagram like 4 times.

1. Change your username
2. Remove the phone number
3. Clean your bio
4. Website link: http://facebook.com/
5. Click Save

If works,
Go back and modify your username to the old one.

I tried this in individual steps and all together with each steps in one edit and clicked submit to save, and it gave me the following error with both attempts:

"We're unable to save your changes due to an automated spam block. If this is a mistake, please accept our apologies for the inconvenience."

Should I stop liking/following for 24 hours or more before making changes?

Can you not just keep using the old link and add a javascript or other type of redirect away to the new URL you want to use?

It is quite simple just take the help from Instagram service. They might guide you how to get through that error.

tried this because I was using a short url service and I changed the landing page already so it shouldn't detect anything as spam but it still continues to block me from changing anything on the account and liking posts.

Hello OP, where you posting the direct link? If you where next time try and use cloaking scripts and your own link shortener, I really like using Yourls, if you got the account flagged for spam, your best bet is to wait for a couple of days and then try again. Hope you can get that to work. The best thing about using your own custom link shortener is that you can change the target link in the link shorteners back end and never have to mess with the actual link placement.

This is horrible and a real issue. No one has a solution to this? What the hell is wrong with instagram? So they block you from making changes to your account because of a bad link forever?

This site just spamblocked me. And I think your best bet may be to screenshot your photos and who you're following and make a new account and delete this one.

YES!!!I just deleted the link and it worked! Never mind... But then I changed my username and it didn't.
