Will google penalize translated articles as duplicate content?

Let say i translate articles from foreign language to english and post them on my site. The translated articles are unique, if i do plagiarism check they come as unique. But will google recognize them as unique, or it will recognize that the articles are translated and penalize the site for duplicate content?

If it looks noticeably different you should be ok.

Sometimes Google ranks you even with duplicate content, but in other cases if your site gets manually reviewed it can tear you apart in almost any circumstance... Not just through the requested means.

I wouldn't use Google's own translator for obvious reasons. Use a human translator and Google will never know.
