Ask Me Anything about selling on eBay

Still trying to work out a method but here is my problem. I want to start a personal blog and review popular products in one category. I post pics of the products for sale at a reasonable price and then I head on over to eBay to place the order with the customer info from my blog and have the ebay seller ship it to them. Is this feasible? What software or tools would I need for setting up my products for visitors to buy? Where do I start? Thanks for your help.

In my personal opinion, your idea is pretty good but you need to work together with a seller in your niche so you guys can coordinate your sales and get some sort of revenue split. Just have the seller provide you for the pics and info to your blog. You wouldn't even have to involve eBay at all. If you can convince the seller to give you say, 12% of the revenue from orders from your blog, that's better for the seller than selling it on eBay. Have the seller deal with the product side of things and you just worry about getting eyeballs to the product. I don't think it will work if you just use it as a launching point for an arbitrage operation because you'll encounter way too many problems with sourcing and customer service issues.

you can use most smartphones as a hotspot for internet connection, and if you have a big carrier in a big city you will get random login from thousands of IP

Is that what youre using TOML3030 for Ip's? smartphones and then the Ip's from the service providers?

If not what are you using for Ip's and where are you getting them at?

I know to never ever use any smartphone Ebay app or any other app for Ebay or Paypal that is the kiss of death! you always use the blue earth internet web browser and then type in ebay dot com once inside the web browser but what about cookie and flash objects?

How can i stop from getting banned from cookie and flash objects when only using one smartphone to manage lets just say 20 accounts?

I know to simply reboot the smartphone to get a new Ip everytime but what about getting linked and banned from cookie and flash objects when using only 1 smartphone?

I use IP's from smart phones on new eBay/paypal account and virgin IP VPN's when an account gets to the point where I'm ready to pound it heavily.

The flash cookies and browser finger printing comes from the device you log into eBay/paypal from, not from the phone. If you use the same phone to log in to multiple accounts, that's how they link you. If you just just the phone as the internet hotspot this will not be a problem. This will work with eBay but not Amazon.

Ok good to know im curious what service provider / hot spot are you using for Ip's? Cricket, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T ???

and Where are you getting your virgin IP VPNs at? What Website?

Ok so not only using any Ebay or Paypal app will get you banned but using a smartphone for more than one account well get you linked and banned aswell.

So the way to do it is get on a computer with each user profile and then connect the computer to the hotspot internet provided by the smartphone?

Thank-you for liking my idea. I appreciate your feedback and it make a lot of sense. You think it'll be hard to find a seller willing to work with me and give me a fair percentage?

Thanks!!

Hi. I am writing again to you because I struggle selling on ebay even with a good account as dropshipper. I have 600+ reviews, account level above standard, everything good on the account details. Listings, over 800 and all of them with good titles and the prices are not so high. More of them are smaller than other dropshippers (I prefer 5-10-15-20$ profit). Also, the description is about the item specifics and a part about my account (return, shipping etc) without any template. In march, I had only 34sales and this month only 8. I tried everything. Dropping prices a bit, using the ebay advertisement with 5% tax, adding over 50 new items in stock.

What more can I do to increase my sales?
THe account is classic, no stealth and other things. How did you increased your sales?

Thank you!

Hi! I need some advice because I'm a bit lost. I've started selling on eBay three months ago, started with some cheap jewlery (necklases and earrings), and I've made like 15 sales so far, and I have 100% positive feedback, but only 5 customers left the feedback. I didn't want to bother others to leave feedback, if they want to leave it they would do that by them self. I've done proper research for keywords using AdWords research tool, upload good 12 pictures of one set, detailed description (product, shipping, payments, return policy etc.). I did start by dropshipping from China because I'm not located in US. Do you have advice on maybe I should try with some other products or maybe look for US based sellers? I do also want to mention that I use small markup on products price, I did not put high profit margin.

It would help to know a little more about your case:

1) What are your dropshipping sources? I don't want to know the specifics. I just want to know if you are using a variety or not. For example are you only using Amazon?

2) Have you tried to become Top Seller for all your items?

3) What is your strategy for selecting items to list?

4) What is your strategy in choosing which items to keep and which ones to delist?

5) Are you providing free 2-day shipping? Can you elaborate this for the buyer by putting a "FREE 2-DAY SHIPPING" stamp on the main picture of each item that is eligible for free 2-day shipping?

6) Finally, many people on BHW talk about eBay purposefully throttling sales. I think this is definitely going on with everyone's account and especially yours. It would be best to figure out how their throttling system is affecting your account and your sales. I only have a general idea about how to do this and I think it will take a lot of coding to complete. If the throttling is as bad as they say it is, then I would try a major change in my dropshipping strategy. This could include having several eBay accounts with smaller number of items listed so that they are not throttled as much. Or you might end up realizing that eBay is complete waste of your time, that they are fucking us in more ways than one, and that it's about time you put an end to your dropshipping on eBay and start to look at different methods of making money.

7) Are you focusing on specific niches or listing whatever you think will profit from dropshipping?

Thanks for the answer, I will reply in the same form.
1. Overstock, Amazon (prime), Walmart and a bit Hayneedle.
2. I didn't tried this yet, and I think it is a bit hard to achieve it. I'm handling really fast any order but it depends on the source store. And also, I didn't researched too much about this thing - if you have any good ideas and how to become easy, let me know :)
3. Almost all items listed (80% from 800+) that I have on my store are already sold from another dropshippers. When I research for an item, I try to search another dropshippers and see with what items they got sales. Also, I check on stores new items and what I think is cheap and good. In the last month I added a lot of bbq grills, outdoor patio, garden etc... already sold, and some new because I think I can sell them. (80% sold by other people, 20% new) ---- rating stars only over 4.0
4. I close items that are out of stock immediately and items that are old and not sold at least 1time. Also, I check prices and reduce them if I can in order to get some profit after.
5. For Amazon items, yes I do. I will try to use a stamp for every amazon items by now on. As for the other stores items, I add tracking number for every sale and it arrives when walmart/overstock does it.
6. I use only one account, old from 2014 and never used multi accounts or something else.
7. Not really, but I do not sell electronics/watches etc...furniture, bikes, bed sheets, bbq grills, bistro sets, outdoor sets, inflatable, fitness accesories (benches dumbbels etc)...a lot of things.

Thank you again!

Anyone have some good info on how to turn a basic, personal account into a business account for PP and eBay? Like an LLC.

What do you think about eBay sellers drop shipping using Amazon Prime?

That would depend on what your product is and how well can you draw in sales, doesn't it? Frankly though, as a manufacturer (I manufacture and wholesale to other internet merchants), I'm not paying attention to you if you in come off the street with this idea, because other people are doing it and it's not original at all, and basically, I am not going to spend a lot of time and effort toward someone who doesn't have any sales to pipe in right off the bat. I'd be a lot more interested if you already have a product review website that gets 1000 unique visitors a day.

1. Feedbacks in general do not help with eBay. Do not worry about feedbacks.

2. I do not recommend drop shipping from a foreign country because of increased shipping time. You will probably never get premium placing on searches if you have 15 day delivery time for not custom made items.

3. Do not worry about the price too much. The same item that sells for $19.99 will sell better with higher search placement than something that sells for $17.99 with lower search placement.

I really doubt that throttling is affecting someone who sells on average less than 1 item a day. There's really nothing to throttle at that point. Where throttling affects you is if you sell 10 TVs a day and eBay wants to throw the TV sales to sellers who sell $5 mil a month.

If the throttling is as bad as they say it is, then I would try a major change in my dropshipping strategy. This could include having several eBay accounts with smaller number of items listed so that they are not throttled as much.

IMO, this would be a mistake, as a bunch of smaller accounts would really have a hard time reaching premium placement. You need several big accounts, not 20 small ones.

You can either call in eBay or list to the limit, keep everything above average and they will increase on their own.

and when i open new account why i cant sell anything ?

This may be as a result of how you're creating accounts. For example, eBay knows if you're using an app or 3rd party service to call in rather than a real phone and whether the address you give them is fake or not. I'm almost 100% sure that's that triggers a lot of zero selling limit accounts.
