Hello everyone,

I set up my first niche web, got around 20 700 word reviews and a main article of 2k words. Im not indexed into google yet.

What should be my next step?

Build manual backlinks and let it rank on auto flight or should i just invest in an SEO package from the start? And which safe package do you recommend?

I'd say try a few things cheaply, then follow what works best.

First step ensure your on page is good for all your reviews. I personally don't like having a high keyword density. I aim for around 1%. Others will tell you different, but works for me. Phpbuilt has good guide on that.
Then make sure you are interlinking between all your pages with mixture of different anchor text.

I usually wait until i'm ranking somewhere and indexed without links until i decide what sort of links i need.

thanks for the tips guys. I use Yoast so my on page is all done correctly KWD of 0.6% ill see how that works out and adjust if needed.

How long does it normally take for google to rank? Cuz i can't see my page rank anywhere except if i search it directly on the name in google.

The time it takes to index a new site varies. The best (and safest) thing you can do is to submit each of your pages to index via Google Webmaster Tools. Register your brand's account on all of the main social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+) and post all of your pages to these sites. Post relevant, niche-related comments on legitimate blogs.

You'll get indexed eventually, it takes some time. Don't panic and throw a ton of crap at your site. Keep building content and the indexing will come. It took around 2 months for my first site to get fully indexed despite having 30~ 1,000+ articles on it, all of the previously mentioned accounts and links, and 40~ web 2.0s. Once it was fully indexed, new posts that I made would index within 2 minutes after submitting them through Google Webmaster Tools.

Patience!

Depends how long ago they got indexed. I usually see some start to rank naturally at about week 2-3. Not 1st page but around 50-150th position. Experiment with internal linking and changing the density/adding lsi in. Wait a week and see if there is any rank improvements. Took me a long time to realize SEO isn't an exact science and testing yourself is the way forward.

Use site:yoursite.com to check index status
Use whatsmyserp.com to track about 20 keywords or so. Its free and good for beginners

Do have a read of this though: http://www.seowargames.com/on-page-seo/

Hey man that article/forum post on KWD was fantastic thanks so much for linking that. I checked my KWD with seobook.com and it showed me having 3.3% KWD for my main keyword! and same for some other main keywords and yes...this indeed came from not realizing WP's overoptimalisation. Cheers man really worthy read!

I also didnt know about that free seep checker which showed me that i rank #101 on my main keyword after launching the website 3 days ago so thats pretty ok i assume.

So my to do:
- Fix the KWD on main keywords / wordpress theme (i even had tags also)
- Continue writing new articles
- Wait 2-3 weeks and then think about backlinks.

if i missed anything or you got any more advice, would love it.

man, check lighting's thread about SEO and amazon method post, also, meathead one.

I think is time to start creating some socials fb page, g+ page, pinterest etc

Thanks for the links @terrycody

Starting the social media blinks,

i came it on rank #66 last night on main KW.

What free tool do you guys recommend to check keyword density (including menu/categories etc) and at what density? I read PHPbuilts post about it, but im having hard time understanding how seobook for example calculates my density as it keeps saying like 20x MainKeyWord instead of the 9 i count (all locations on main page).

http://tools.seobook.com/general/keyword-density/ should do it.
There is also a firefox plugin that people use for it called searchstatus.
