I just had a 'customer' of 6 months do a MASSIVE chargeback on me, claiming they were "unauthorized transactions". Normally PayPal allows the seller 7 days to respond and provide evidence for a defense. In this case, they just automatically ruled in the buyers favor and took the money from my account. (wtf?)

There's no way I'm going to just accept this given the amount of money stolen from me. I've got proof of every kind that these were authorized transactions, including dozens of email correspondence and his own admission that he's been using the service happily.

I plan on filing a criminal complaint with his local police department, then contacting the City Attorney: Prosecutor's Division to formally press charges.

Has anyone else done this? What was your experience? Should I expect any results or do I have to write it off and move on?

Your money not stolen, so stop that talk,
paypal solisters look at all cases before full refund ,

You been charge backed becouse of a shitty contract or
sales page , your fault you have not protected your sales page.

Did you show paypal your evedence and phone them
to show more evedence or exsplain the situation.

did you say in your contract / sales page no chargebacks
sold as seen .

the problam is usally a crap contract?

paypal never fight a good protected sales page worded properly

Are you serious? This response has no basis in reality. Pure garbage.

Please, only respond if you've actually dealt with the situation I'm describing.
No armchair nonsense like the guy above.

I have delt with paypal over 20 years in 7 figure income you are talking shit ,i tell you how it works via paypal , you cus me you are a full...

no one can help you sorry not with that attitude

Good luck, if they are in your country then you might have a chance, but you'll need to go through the courts probably and it'll be a big ball ache that'll cost you even more money to chase it and you've still at the end got no guarantee they will pay you - they might claim they have no money and will pay you $1 per month.

That's if you win.

Been there, done that, it's not nice but part of life I'm afraid.

My point is if his sales page was well written with protectiing him self
with refunds ,he wouldnt of loss nothink from beginning.

fact.

a lot of people and business lose thousands
thru there sales page not protected via written refund rules.

What? I wish there was a "completely hate this post" button.

Tons of people pull PayPal chargeback scams all of the time.

The ONE time PayPal can't do anything is when the buyer uses a CC, and charges back the transactions from the CC company themselves.

I'm assuming he didn't dispute it with PayPal, because they wouldn't have given the person their money back (if OP is innocent, of course).

Paypal wouldnt of paid any cash back if his website was
protected with a refund rule.

before any money returned they look into the website sales page fact

of course i am going on about a dispute case .

You dont just let them have the cash and run
you dispute the case of course.

he said he got email everdence so in a dispute he will win easly
if the sales page is refunded protected on words.

Chargeback scams will not hapoen if you protect your self with
a good refund policy , how the fuck can anybody get your cash
on a dispute if you have protected your website arse
Paypal will tell them to f off .

Anybody can try a chargeback but if the website
is fully protected with a refund policy there never get any cash...

but if there disputing that the Quilty of work is rubish
then court the ansaw or you refund the cash ..

You are completely mistaken. Chargeback fraud has nothing to do with refund policies.

Do you know what a chargeback is? Paypal before did not refund me money from a scammer saying they had no funds, well guess what ... I told my bank and got all money back and still have my paypal account.

Chargebacks with the bank: There is not one fucking thng paypal can do. The banks/cc companies are in control here nothing that paypal can do in those cases.

So accoring to that info below ,there nothink paypal can do ,

but you can dispute the case and prove you sold the item
but your still need to show your sales website page and the website
will still need to show once you buy no refund.

i get what you mean know, so sorry you mean they just buy a product then stop the
credit card transaction and i suspect the transaction get refunded via the bank or credit card asking paypal for the money.

surly paypal no of this going on , surly you prove you sold a item
it a sale not your fault they want to give item back that madness.

vey hard situation , so if you go to court they can just say the product was no good ,
but it will cost you thousands in court cost.

So selling your own product , maybe adding it to a selling gateway like
jvzoo or cb help solve this.

so directly selling products can lead to this problam ?

Sorry , i was on about refunds , so sorry your all correct ....

Chargeback fraud, also known as friendly fraud, occurs when a consumer makes an online shopping purchase with their own credit card, and then requests a chargeback from the issuing bank after receiving the purchased goods or services. Once approved, the chargeback cancels the financial transaction, and the consumer receives a refund of the money they spent. When a chargeback occurs, the merchant is accountable, regardless of whatever measures they took to verify the transaction.[SUP][1]

Like i said sorry, we all learn , so selling products directly and not under a afflicate can cause terrible nightmares.

why not just get the product added to a affricate, dont that make more sense
espically with all the fraud going on .

Paypal do not usually charge back without doing a follow up i had some problem in the past but i created other channel for it . Check if the amount worth the time you about to invest if not move on .
