My First Churn & Burn

Day #17 Update

KW 1 Position: 14
KW 2 Position: 17

I haven't spent any more money, and I am still chilling. I just feel like doing an update.

SERPS have been stagnant for a week. It's been 2 weeks plus 3 days before I ordered the spam. I set the drip for 10 days, plus I'm sure it took a few days for them to start. So I am assuming that all spam links have been completed by now.

I really don't have any patience. I know I should continue to chill for 2 more weeks to see what happens. What do you think?

On Site #3 I paid for 2 more expensive PBN packages a day or 2 ago. I bought this one and this one. Plus I bought the same spam as for site #1 a week or so ago. So total spent on that one is $230, give or take.

On the Shopify I am still working on a ppc campaign for it. I'm up to a budget of roughly $50 a day on it. The average time on site is over 7 minutes. That freaks me out! Most of my crappy sites have an average time of 5 seconds. I'll talk about this more if anyone is interested.

So, what do you think? Should I remain in chill mode on site #1??

yeah i think chill out a bit , and please talk more about shopify , i made a website on woocommerce , PPc on facebook but bounce rate was huge and i made 0 sales so i stopped it

Hey, this is a really interesting thread. I'm surprised you chucked more cash at it without waiting though.

Thanks for your thoughts. I will try to do nothing else to site #1 until 4-10-16. Sigh.... I hate waiting.

I'll talk about the shopify more in the next update. I think the reason my bounce rate is crazy low, and the average time on site is ridiculous, is because my customers are nuts.

I screwed up writing that down. I haven't spent more money on site 1 or 3. I bought those kind of expensive PBN's to the new shopify site. Doh!!!

Good to see this churn and burn journey moving forward gtull2. Sorry to hear about your negative experience building the authority site you tried previously. Keep working your models, and let's see you hit this one out of the park!

Keep us updated!

Thanks for the kind words of encouragement Davers. Very appreciated.

On the Shopify site......

I've ordered a good bit of links to it in the last couple of days. I also bought two pbn network packages that I shared a few days ago.

I ordered this one about 3 days ago. I sent him a message yesterday explaining that the site was new and I was looking for some cheap diversity links to go with his order. I asked if he had anything. His response was that my site was new with no links, and the domain wasn't owned by me. So he cancelled my order. Pretty shitty in my opinion. He could have told me that he had a problem with the site. I would have happily given him one of the 50 or so other sites I have to link to. Instead he just rejects it after 3 days and sends a refund. Then he blows off my reply and ignores it.

I've bought more than my share of services here. I've seen it all. I have bought from one of the most respected members here, and his service was complete bullshit. I have had some really good experiences too though. Whatever... I'll put my big boy pants on.

He did point out that it was for his pbn network security, and I get that. I just would have gone about it different. But... I'm just a customer, and it's his gig.

Because of that bs I decided to tell this guy that I ordered pbn links from the situation. I didn't want him coming to me in 2 weeks saying "sorry, we can't link to you because your site sucks". He was cool with it. He recommended that I get diversity links asap. I told him I was doing so, and that was that.

On the Shopify site I have increased the daily ad budget to $100. I got limited by budget yesterday at $50, so I bumped it. I also had a Bing rep really hook me up with some intel. I am still tweaking and testing, but I think I am pretty close to a fairly well optimized campaign. The roi is still ridiculous. I am looking at ramping it up fast with Adwords in the next week or so. My goal is to be on a daily spend budget of $200 + within the next few weeks. I would still like to hire someone to look over my campaigns...

Last time I said I would talk about Shopify more. Well the first one I did focused on cat jewelry. I was dropshipping from Ali. It sucked. I got a few ppc sells here and there, but meh... It wasn't right.

So I knew that I needed to try another Shopify store. I have had this idea in my head for a really long time. I decided to go for it and see what happened. I was shocked at the immediate sells on high $ items ($$$)! I thought it was a fluke, but it wasn't.

The bounce rate is the lowest I have ever seen on anything I've done. The time on site and pages viewed is ridiculous. I am watching people stay on site for over 30 minutes, with an average of over 7 minutes. I am seeing people visit an average of 6 + pages. I have never made anything that got anywhere near this response. Most of my sites see 1 page views in like 5 seconds. This is 100% different.

I won't do anything to share the niche, but I can describe the customers. They are mainly old females that are a bit nuts. Think "crazy cat lady" and you are on the right track.

I can also say that I am charging roughly 3 times as much for this service compared to any other ppc advertisers. I am also including my inflated price in the ad copy. I am getting away with this, I think, because of a few things:

1- My site looks better than anyone else's. Theirs are from the 90's.
2- People are given my phone number, email, and can live chat with me directly from the site. That makes me way more trustworthy than any other seller.
3- I am live chatting with visitors when they hit the site. At 20 seconds a live chat pops up asking if they have any questions. My son is helping me with this because I don't have that much time. I would say that 1/3 of all visitors chat back. I am able to sell them the service in chat. I have had many customers that I know for a fact wouldn't have bought it f not for the live chat.
4- I go above and beyond with the service. While everyone else is doing X, I am doing X Y and Z. It is perceived as being an "over the top" service.
5- I am already getting repeat customers. A few have told me that they just like talking to me, so they want to buy something else/more.

So, yep I am having fun with this Shopify. If I don't screw it up, this can become pretty serious within weeks.

I guess this was a rant post. I'll update the Site #1 (the reason for this journey) next time. Thanks for reading.

Thanks Rashow! I really appreciate the kind thoughts.

Yeah, I am definitely obsessed on this shopify site too. I am still carrying out these churn and burn tests to completion, but there really isn't much to do on them until I get some results from what I have already done. ZZZzzzz......

Sure, send me your site by pm and your idea. I'd be happy to give you my opinion. Not that I'n an e-commerce guru, but I'll definitely tell you what I think.

I can tell you that the service angle is awesome! No shipping, I take care of orders immediately, and you can play with the pricing a lot more. Fun!

Get in touch if you still need help with your Adwords / Bing campaigns. I'm a 97% Google Partner (average partner score is 80%) with 7+ years of experience. If you're relatively fit with doing stuff yourself I can do an audit and give you suggestions on where / how to improve your current performance etc.

Thank you!

Day # 23 Update (I Think?)

Site #1 Stats
KW 1- #16
KW 2- #28
To Do: Chill Until 4-10-16

Sticking to my plan. I am doing nothing with this site until 4-10-16. I am annoyed though. The primary kw is stuck on page 2. In my mind this means:

a- my spam method sucked
b- not enough time
c- my spam links suck
d- crappy links don't do much on their own

The plan on 4-10-16, if I don't see anything positive, is to hit it with some $$$ pbn links. We'll see. Sigh....

On Site 2 and 3 I am still chilling waiting to see what happens with 1. I have done enough cheap spamming to get them both indexed. I will probably hit them with some really high $$$ pbn links at the same time as I do site 1. I definitely don't mind spending money on them.

On the Shopify, I am still thrilled. I went past $3k in gross sales today. I think this is day 12 or so with that site being live. I am guessing my ppc spend on it so far is around $500 or so. So $500 spend (pretty close estimate) and a net profit of $2.5 k. Pretty pumped about that!

I really need to get more organized with keeping up with the numbers. I just don't have enough time online to track everything well, but I can and should do a lot better.

I think my campaign for this shopify site is pretty good. I am realizing an average daily spend now of around $70 or so. I need to set up 3-5 more campaigns for it though to other pages.

I had a chat with Adwords about this shopify site. My current ppc on it is Bing. Bing really doesn't give a shit, so I was curious what Adwords would have to say. Long story short, they want me to change A LOT on the site. I'm not too happy about that, but they are the big boys. Whatever I am doing on Bing now, I can do a hell of a lot more on Adwords. I will think about this after I have all the campaigns I want on Bing doing well.

If anyone has any questions or opinions, I would love to hear from you. Thanks or reading this!

To Do: Wait 3 more days until 4-10-16

Quick update for myself. Site 1 is still in complete chill mode. Grrrr... I am buying some heavy pbn for it in 3 days.

On the shopify site, it is still doing great. I am still spending about $70 a day with Bing to it.

On adwords, they just wouldn't accept my shopify site. They wanted way too many changes. So I made another shopify site that is adwords compliant. I got the approval on it today. I started a daily budget of $50 for it just to make sure everything was ok. I blew through that budget in around 2 hours. I can see a daily spend on this one of some $500 + per day. I will start ramping the budget up this weekend I think. I just want to be a little more sure first.

On both shopify sites I have a better grasp on spend, analytics, etc now. I still need to improve on that. I also know that this is about to turn into a full time job. I'm not sure that I'm ready for that right now, so I need to think about it.

For the couple of you that read this, thank you. Any feedback is appreciated.

P.S. I finally made contact again with my old buddy Sweetfunny!!! I am so happy. Not be be overtly gay, but I missed you Sweet! Thank you Loopline for the help. :)

From my experience, only time churn and burn has worked for me is when I mixed in high pr private blog links.

And I am not talking about 100 PBN links for $30 or $100, I am talking about 50-100 links for $300-600. Those really high quality - rare, expensive links that most people refuse to buy coz they are "too expensive".

Good luck bro.

Great progress and interesting churn and burn test you are on your way for sure... and god damn you are a fucking sales monster intercepting as many customers on live chat as you can and converting them into sales plus they are coming back to chat to you or your son and buying more... your sales patter must be smooth real smooth.

Hey. I really appreciate that advice. Those are the kind of links I am looking for, especially with Site #3. Where in the world can I find them? I don't mind spending, I just don't know where to get them.

I was also thinking about 301 Nuke and giving that a shot too. But I really want some nice/rare PBN links mixed in. I think the site is ready for them?

Thanks!!!

Not sure if I am on my way, but having some fun anyways. :)

I had no idea how powerful Live Chat is before this. I can tell you that when I am asleep or away from the PC, I am lucky to get a few sales. When I am on to answer the chat, it's gold. When I'm not on my son is helping when he cans, but his job is to mainly "keep 'em alive" and relay it to me to follow up with them. Using (not really "using", but you know...) my son for that seems to work pretty well. He is an agent on the chat, and it shows that he is my assistant. That works.

The biggest money maker I have found on Live Chat is to do some reverse psychology on them. I have a lot of visitors that are very skeptical about the service. A TON of them have been burnt before online. Here is what I do, or something to this effect:

Them-- Well I love your site and what you say that you offer, but how can I know that you are legit?

Me-- I have been doing this for xx years. If anyone can be considered a pro at this, that would be me. But I'm not here to sell you on me. I have almost more business than I can handle right now anyways. May I ask a favor from you?

Them-- Sure. What can I do?

Me-- I want you to sleep on this. Don't place an order today. The last thing I need is for you to jump into something that you are unsure about. I'm going to go ahead and close this chat now. I hope to see you another day, but if not that's ok. It was nice chatting with you, and I hope the rest of your week is profitable and full of fun.

Then I let them sweat. I don't have a real number for this, but I would bet that some 75% beg me to take their order immediately. I tell them again that I'm not interested in taking it now, and they need to think long and hard before doing anything. At this point they are opening up their wallet and begging me to take it.

I learned that "trick" from an old sewing threads salesman (I used to manage a sewing machine factory). He was the best salesman I have ever met. He would take me to lunch. We would sit through an hour meal talking shit, but he would never say a word about selling me anything. By the time the check came it felt like I had to twist his arm to sell me something. It works.

Thanks for the pep talk Lewwy!! I'm having a blast. :)

Thanks for the journey. I really like the tips on the sales technics for liveCHat.

That's some great advice for live chat not your standard boring sale pitch.

Your lad keeps em alive Haha that is classic.

I think like many I underestimated live chat sales because I can't wait to close the chat box when I land on a site but obviously many people like a good chat to feel they have made a good choice.

Nice Journey OP, So you are selling a service via shopify to the general public and its converting?

Good for you, glad to see some actual journey threads here again. Keep us posted, happy you are finding success!
