If you send them the requested photo, you should hear back from them within 3-7 days. The account is not activated before you receive the email from them saying so.

Really stupid noob questions, when reactivated--will it be with the new email address provided and old password? Are you providing your real full name, here?
Also, do you think this would work with an account that hasn't been deactivated but rather dead for over a year? Thanks for sharing.

No, it's reactivated with all your old information. You provide your real name, yes. I think it's just so they know it's a real person and not some bot creating accounts.

If it's just dead and not deactivated, why not just sign back in? I'm confused with what you mean I guess.

Yes, this exactly. I've had some response times within one business day but most of the time it can take up to a week or so. It just depends how backed up they are I think.

Haha, precisely, I wonder if anybody ever attempted to send a pic of themselves multiple times successfully.

I wonder if this would work, acknowledging that Instagram is formally authorizing multiple accounts.

I've used myself in all of mine and it's worked so far. What's the big deal? They allow you to switch accounts now so it's not against their terms to have multiple accounts. In fact they're encouraging it with that feature.

I've used myself on several accounts so far without any problems. We are officially allowed to have 5 accounts, so I'm more curious if anybody got a sixth account re-activated using the same person.

I don't think that IG is too persnickety in that matter. make sure that you look freakin' awesome on those pics, you never know what they end up doing with those.

btw: I already knew about this method, reporting an account as hacked seems to be better in terms of success, rather than reporting it right after they ask you to contact them if you think they made a mistake or something wrong or sth like that. I guess you know what I mean.

On 3 of my accounts I've been getting disabled at a ridiculous rate...like literally a couple days after just getting enabled and not even posting, I get disabled again. So I sent a response to one of their "you're enabled again" emails and got this in response which I found interesting...

Hi,

It looks like your account was disabled by mistake. Your account has been reactivated, and you should now be able to log in. We're sorry for any inconvenience.

If you have any issues getting back into your account, please let us know.

So if you guys are getting disabled right after being enabled again it may have been a "mistake" so just respond to their "you're enabled again" email asking what's going on first because that's easiest route. Then if that doesn't work do the hacked process.

Sometimes they won't enable you with that method if it's been disabled multiple times which I mentioned in my original post.

But always get an email saying that they won't be able to activate it. This is my first time getting disabled by the way
