Has anyone been able to

1) collect opt ins for email leads in different niches
2) redirect subscribers to an affiliate offer (such as clickbank)
3) made enough sales to cover the cost of building the list?

Regarding #3 in particular. Did you redirect opt-ins to an affiliate offer right away?

How long did it take you to find an offer that converted well enough on the front end to cover list building costs?

I am doing exactly the same you are asking about it. I started it recently and I am still doing tests with it.
What I am doing: spending to bring people to my squeeze page and then redirect them to a CB product.
So far, results are good. I made %70 ROI during those tests and collected some emails too.

I will not do any changes in product for now. I am focusing on right people to target, because I believe I can get more traffic for the same spend.
And I redirect them to offer right after they enter their email.
