which platform for e commerce site?

magento can be expensive, the plugins are great but too expensive and you'll need an expert if you don't know what you're doing. IMHO if you're going for a small business woocommerce is the way to go, if you're willing to invest big Cash = magento is you solution!

This is true, Plugins can be expensive but worth it.

One thing about magento better than shopify is that shopify charges you per month on plugins. Magento is one time payment.

But again, magento can be a little difficult to figure out at first.

I'd use magento community edition but it does need a decent host so you're looking at a vps and you'll need to do some work to get it really performing but its pretty full featured.

I am also suggested Magento is the best platform for E commerce site. It is effective platform for customized websites and also have lot of template and plugins available.

Woocommerce on Wordpress is fine for most ecommerce sites. It depends what you're trying to do I suppose.

Shopify is the clear winner based on ease of use and multi APPs. Awesome integrated payment systems. They never delete you data as you can restart your website without losing data after a month or 2 without paying. If you want to host your own website no problem shopify also has a wordpress theme/plugin.

Remember Facebook and Instagram are your go to guys for sales

My suggestion is also OpenCart. It has a very loyal and active community for user support. Also designed to easily manage multiple shops from one admin interface. It has more shipping methods in the default downloads, with hundreds of additional gateways.

I like Shopify. I know a lot of people are scared to pay $30+ /month, but the apps are amazing. Sometimes even small little changes can raise your conversion rate, with ecommerce every little bit of advantage you can get counts.

While both Shopify and Magento Community are fairly powerful e-commerce hosting platforms, Shopify provides greater ease of use since it is a hosted and fully managed service.

Hey

i heard about wordpress CMS is not ideal for e commerce site? do you suggest any other platform or wordpress is good enough?

I prefer Shopify when it comes to ecommerce sites. The ease of setting it up plus the handy dashboard area for quickly adding products, customizing the look of your site and more is pretty flawless. It's cool because Shopify asks you if you plan on moving from another platform during the signup process.

Looks like vast majority of people choose magento and when it comes to shopify monthly fee is must.
