Newbie at SEO: am I doing it right?

Greetings BHW!
Not going to lie, this is all very new to me. Therefor I am making this thread to ask the community whether I'm doing it right.
So - what I'm doing here (the combo below) is that okay to get ranked?

Tier 1 [ Web 2.0 ]
^
Tier 2 [ Blast links with GSA SER to Web 2.0s ]

Along with that, to rank my article I do this: social signals, social bookmarks, blog comments, guest blog comments, posting on related forums.

Thoughts? Anything I can improve? Or keep it that way?

Yeah my on-page seo is optimized and checked, Yoast SEO (WP Plugin) says I'm fine.

Well , dont read only that . Read every seo article that you can find ...
Seo 1st of all is reading , find out what tacktiks are not worthing, find out opinions of every reader "look at comments"
and better try what you learn in a domain that you dont want

Yeah I figured SEO is a never ending learning process.
But just wanted to know if I'm not wasting my time here attempting to rank my articles.

First of learn of seo then use technic.

Take out the social bookmarks, dont over do the web2.0s and tier2, and keep doing the rest. You're doing great.
