Using Examiner.com For Self-Promotion

Has anyone written for examiner.com for promotional reasons? If you have to either attain twitter followers or traffic to your blog, or links; do you think it's worthwhile to try?

I have been accepted as a writer on their site but not sure I want to put the time and effort into it.
