WP help please!

Hi, I lost my username and password to my WordPress blog. So I looked up the solution and went into phpMYADMIN to change it and rehashed it with MP5 just like the instructions said on the WordPress forum. It did not work for me. What should I do? I have been at this for four hours and have nothing to show for it. Should I try accessing php again and repeat or can I remove all the WP files and start from scratch? I had nothing on the template so I don't care If I lose anything. *I forgot to mention I moved to a new host last week.

If you didn't change hosting, or didn't change php version, your method should work.

Why don't you add new user; admin2 (set admin privileges) in phpmyadmin.

Well it should work. There's no reason it shouldn't. You have to enter the password in plain text, and then select the MD5 option from drop-down menu in phpmyadmin.

I did that exactly.

oh I did change hosting!

Install fresh wordpress on new hosting. It would be much faster than trying to fix all errors

So your saying I can delete all current WP files and reinstall it (I use softalicious) via softalicious and it will be fixed?

try to create new db and exporting your old db and import it to new dbase then link it to your newly installed wp,

I fixed it by deleting everything and redownloading WP, thx guys!
