Current earnings through IM so far = $8.53 - not even enough for an adsense payout.

So that's my first target!

I have a niche and I have a site but zero traffic. Potential to monetize with well known affiliate program in the niche or creating + selling an ebook or adsense. Going to try adsense first and just learn as I go.

First things first is driving traffic. I've setup my first attempt at creating a viral fb fanpage using enderz "Autopost viral videos to facebook" method and from that page i've got a link to my site + sometimes I can share my site because it's directly related to the niche.

This journey will evolve and change many times but I'm taking it very seriously this time.

Mate, Thanks for sharing your journey. Really you are doing better. For better result just you have to carry on it. I can see already you have earned $8.53.
Now you have a site so if you wanted to do better in next then you have to increase your traffics so you can start marketing for your site so that you can get niche related traffics. Please keep update. I'll comeback again.

Ok, so the original niche I picked is a little slow to get off the ground with a days experiment of the autopost viral vid to fb method, so I'm gonna pivot and switch the content of the fb page as I've found a niche with years worth of top quality content to auto-upload. So my first goal here is to write a small tool which given a keyword can produce a list of urls of youtube videos for that keyword sorted by view count -> channel subscribers -> likes. Then I will create a new fb page, auto-schedule the content and try grow the page and get some traffic going.

Did a couple of things today. Wrote a script that scrapes the url, view count, subscriber count, likes and dislikes of a youtube video given the url of the video and appends it to a csv file. Still more work to do to make a script that can scrape a list of youtube video urls of an entire users account. Once I have that I can easily schedule a lot of content to upload to fb / twitter and start growing accounts.

Also, on a separate note. I will also try aliexpress affiliate program. So I picked a niche and 30 products from that niche and I'm just thinking about how to set up the site with the affiliate links now. I'll go with wordpress but I was wondering whether I should buy a domain and host or just use free wordpress account. TBH I don't wanna spend money for domain + hosting given that I haven't proven I can drive traffic + make a sale in this niche yet. So my thinking is to start out on the free tier and prove I can at least make some sales to validate my idea and upgrade from there.

So I went with the wordpress free tier and scored an awesome name for the site. Extremely targeted to the niche. Setup the 'Cubic' theme, photo-shopped a custom 'buy now' button and uploaded a few test products. Looking awesome. Next goal is to get all 30+ products uploaded.

Cubic theme you customizing for adsense ?

Not quite. This WP site is just an AliExpress affiliate site and Cubic happens to have that 'magazine' style feel to it that works well. Though do you think I should put a bit of adsense ads on there anyway? There isn't much content other than products... this journey is more like a first payout from anywhere. I am trying several things concurrently.

Not much time to work on things last night but I got a few more products up on AliExp affiliate site. One thing I did notice that is with Cubic theme if you don't size your images right you get these annoying black lines above and below the image and when you are viewing the home page it starts to look like bad. Sometimes on AliExp the product's main picture isn't suitable, so I use snipping tool to cut an image from the description which often has better images and this is when things get messed up. If you can find products whose main image is suitable to use, then use those as they come out perfect.

Will continue to work on my youtube scraping script and over the weekend setup fb page, tumblr, pinterest acc. for this AliExp niche site. Also found another niche that I wanna do the same thing with... but I feel like I needa automate this process a bit more before I do that because it takes me too long.

Just keep pushing man, you'll make your goal if you just keep going and noting down what doesnt work and capitalizing on what does.

What is your current earnings?

Zero dollars and zero cents. The money I have in my adsense account is from some things I tried a few years ago. I also tried some CPA at that time but couldn't make it work because I didn't know how to drive any traffic. So, I'm concentrating on learning to drive traffic first. I'm following enderz method to grow fb pages on autopilot at the moment and once I've got that going I can think about directing traffic to my money site through that channel.

For me at this stage it's really about learning how to drive traffic consistently and in big enough volumes without too much manual effort. I think in IM if you can do that, you can win. If you can't do that, then it's a lot of work for not much money. I make 5k/month with purely white hat methods (i.e a job + real estate) but it takes all my time. I want a bit of freedom (and I love writing bots / scrapers, so it's also a good hobby) so I figure it's worth my time to learn the techniques that actually make people successful at IM.

Last time I put so much effort into making some sites and finding products etc, but without any traffic the result was like $0.3/month lmao. Anyone else have that experience?

So, I have been writing a giphy scraper that harvests 1000s of gif urls that will auto-play on facebook just like videos do. I had a go at implementing it in phantomjs because I've never used phantomjs before and I have to say "complex" navigation scenarios in phantomjs are not exactly trivial, you must do them with recursion because reasons. Either way... not liking it. BUT it definitely has its upsides being able to able to interact with the page inside a script. Normally I can't do that with just WGET so, I've gone with a hybrid approach. Do the initial page load in phantomjs and scroll the page so I can load 1000s of gifs and output the gifs urls to the console where I pipe them into a bash script that extracts the fb shareable url. It's a nice solution for me. and it's working well (screen shots attached).

So I made fb page, twitter & tumblr and signed up for the 14 day free trial of premium on socialpilot (by accident). I was just planning on writing a script / bot that automated the free tier but I clicked the 'try premium link' expecting it would open a new tab where I could first compare the price and benefits of premium, instead it just started the free trial. So I figured ok I'll use the free trial and switch back to my original plan once it rums out.

Anyway, now that I have automated posts set up to fb, twitter and tumblr it's time to try grow those accounts! Then I just gotta learn how to scale it. I've done tumblr before so that should be ok... fb I have a strategy lined up and in the coming days will test it. Twitter I may just roll a quick bot of my own.

During this campaign of auto posting gifs from giphy to social media I figure there are some tweaks that would really boost engagement. For starters my accounts have a link to each other so they can help each other grow. Second I've got a couple of niche related hashtags in the post to try and make them discoverable naturally. Second I'm thinking a targetted campaign at celebrities profiles who have some content in the niche.

In the coming days I also plan to get another sim card and use my old phone to make 4 fb accounts and try add 5k friends so I can use them as a way to help bootstrap some traffic..

Spending some time to write a custom scraper to do a bit of market research. Phase 1 of the scraper is nearly complete and that'll give me valuable insights on the surface level which will allow me to dig deeper in phase 2 which should yield some real gems.

Just got scrapebox. Finally starting to build up some tools in my arsenal. No real money making activities going on yet but I'm not trying to rush out and get 100 articles or make PBN or anything like that right away. Spending some time to establish some foundations.

My first market research scraper was put on hold today because I got sidetracked after finding a google dork that nets me some email addresses in some niches. I'll put harvesting all those emails and spamming some clickbank products their way on my list of things to try. Will finish off phase 1 of the market research scraper project probably tomorrow or friday and then phase 2 I'll start on the weekend.

Finished phase 1 of my first market research script. Damn cool stuff but it's only scratching the surface. Will be commencing phase 2 tonight! This is a script designed to find out exactly what is relevant and important to a particular community on a large scale. So far it's working well. I definitely got insights from phase one that were not immediately obvious from looking at the original data. I'm sure phase 2 will be even more interesting. Depending on the results I might make it a more generic tool able to perform the same analysis in a wider variety of cases. Won't give away too many details just yet because it's in the very early stages but when a project that actually uses the insights in the data gets underway I'll be sure to post more info.

Started using scrapebox today. But of a learning curve on it. I got 10 private proxies from instantproxies and I did a bunch of scraping on some urls I collected through a hand written scraper. Found some pretty interesting stuff in there that will definitely be able to use. This is starting to get fun. I got the Automator plugin for it too so I can sit down and design some killer work flows. I already got a couple of ideas.

Think I'm gonna get started on a money site tomorrow. Just something really cheap and throwaway but should be good for a laugh. If I wind up making a few bucks out of it then cool.

I guess in the coming week or two when I get more proficient with scrapebox I will start targeting some more money making activities. For now it's just learning the ropes.

Good luck. I think your on the right path, building a solid foundation is the key to success in my opinion.
