Hey everyone,

Sad story for me today. I had a 150$ coupon for Google Adwords.

Sadly I forgot to stop the campaign when it should've been over.

Result: Got 250$US billed on my credit card (around 380$CAD with the stupid rates)

There's no way to get a refund from Google since they say the ad's already been used.

What about trying to get it disputed from my credit card?

I've already made up my mind that I won't see that money again... but if anyone has any idea of what I could do to make this better... let me know!

Thanks for reading

Oh man, unless you used a "special" credit card (read as stolen) I would not try any charge back. Messing with google is like peeing in a Rancor's mouth. Do not do it if you want to use the internet (especially if any of your entered information was real)

Sounds like your SOL buddy :) Sorry but there is nothing you can do but to pay and learn your lesson :)

Not to sound like a dick.. but the fault here is with you, not Google. Google obviously aren't going to refund you if the ad's already been used. Disputing it might work, but what are you going to tell your CC company? As far as anyone is concerned - you paid for advertising on Google and you got it. I don't think "forgetting to stop the campaign" is "good enough" for a refund/dispute?

I've had that happen too. They actually turned it over to collections - not cool.

You can call your credit card issuer to initiate a charge back, but you will going to lose, cause you do not have any supporting documentation or evidence that shows you didn't received the item or the service you paid for. In other hand google has the evidence to show they provided the service that they billed you for.

I know it's my own fault - not trying to blame anyone else here - or Google. I know I screwed up and just wanted to share my story.

I'll just learn from my mistakes. As said in OP, I know I won't see that money again.

Thanks everyone for sharing your point of view :)

If you dispute the charge with google, they will fight it and eventually they will win because their TOS protects them - AND you will make enemies with google so as unfortunate as it is, I recommend just consider the money lost.

Yea I wont try to screw around with them. Rather keep them on my side. I'll use the remaining 60$ wisely.
