VPS or dedicated Host for 250 visitors per sec?

Right now i use in Shared hosting.. its working slowly..
i want to upgrade my hosting but i dont know to what
VPS OR dedicated?
my site upload just text and picutre and just embed video not upload to my host
So what best for me?
Please help me..
And one more question.. What a better company BlueHost or Inmotion?

I definitely agree receiving that large amount of traffic will require a dedicated server.

If your site is just text you should not have an issue running your site on a VPS account. I would recommend start with 1 gb ram on a managed server. Then if you need more resources its easy to upgrade your account.

On the shared plan they might be running cloud Linux which will limit your resources you can use.

On your issue it could be how the server is configed. What process are you using, how much ram, what type of drives are you using. Is your site text or images. If you have a full dedicated server you should have no issue unless its config wrong. or you have an outdated server with low resources

my site works on WP its like a news site..

This is hard to believe. You're saying your traffic is 21,600,000 per day and your website "is working slowly" on a shared hosting account. Mate, you need an entire rack with dedicated servers with that type of traffic.

Then VPS would be enough for that traffic. If you'd ask me what hosting company I'd prefer, I'd suggest you siteground.

Start out with a VPS and then scale if needed. No need to jump right into a dedi.

You need a dedicated server. The VPS that you'll be requiring will cost just as much as a dedicated server. If you need more help, PM me.

if you've little knowledge of nginx then go with VPS only! Dedicated box would be useless if you've less than 2M traffic / day i guess!

checkout gorillaservers I stumbled upon them when researching machines that can process big data. they have enough resources on each machine to easily handle 250 req/second. if your using something like wordpress consider caching static html in compressed form and serve it up with nginx server.

Professional adjustment is more important than server type. You have to tune and optimize your LAMP (or LEMP, better), then your site will not be "working slowly".

i would prefer dedicate over vps, price wise you should be better off and performance wise too.

That being said you should always optimize the server / vps, and your wordpress site to optimize it for speed and user experience.
optimizing wordpress it self would save you some vps/dedipower. disable things like heartbeat, use caching ect ect.
Should not hard to be find in google: optimize wordpress.
