Building Backlinks - eCommerce Site

Hi All,

I have been selling second hand clothes on eBay for many years and now decided to start my own website.

So far I am only using Google Merchant Centre and getting a few sales every week.

I want to start building back links.

I am very new to the SEO game and so far got an idea to search for relevant forums using BoardReader website. Then post replies that add value and link back to my website. (making sure to only post on forums where ******** links are allowed).

Is this a good plan?

Can someone suggest anything better I can spend my time on in this case?

I would appreciate your advice.

Posting on relevant theme will help you to spread word about your site. You might not get huge benefit in terms of SEO. You can try other methods of links. Links from relevant content.

So does that mean the "********" backlinks from these forums will do nothing to increase my rank in Google?

Is that because the forums generally have low rank themselves? or Google does not see those types of backlinks as important?
