need help with getting conversions on CPA - hack niche

Hi guys.

Long time listener - first time caller (well, kinda)

So I recently popped up a site with a content locker in the cheat/hack niche. I'm getting the traffic - people are interested in what I've got - but once they click on the locker they wont do the deed.
I have looked around to see what other people are doing with content lockers, and mine doesn't seem that different.
Any suggestions? Should I prep or coach the customer before they click for the download? Say nothing at all?

I admit that the site as a whole isn't fleshed out -I am working on throwing some other stuff up there - i just hurried something up quick to catch something I saw happening.

A short step by step walk through should help conversions.

Also some fake reviews of happy people who have unlocked your content.

Make sure your site looks trust worthy, thrust is one of the biggest factors to converting in any niche.

I have some fake comments. I had pondered the step by step... I currently have something like "easy peasy instructions included in download"
I think if I work a bit to flesh out the site it will improve the trust factor.
I'm starting to get search engine traffic instead of the social media traffic I started with - and while its slower going, i think they are more focused on getting the goods than the lookie-loos from fb and twitter because the ratio of visitors to download clicks is starting to look more balanced to me.

I appreciate the sounding board. It's hard when things are bouncing around in your own head.

i'm trying not to "work" today so I will quote from my head
this was day one, social traffic mostly - site as described above.
1,600 some pageviews - 80 clicks on download button, 15 chose an offer, 1 completed
this was nearly 100% social traffic so prolly just the lookie loos.
Thanks again for ideas.
Despite my not wanting to "work" today - I am thinking I will tinker a bit after I get some caffeine in me.

Hard to say without knowing more about your stats.

- What countries are you targeting? Lots of people will click without doing the deed if its a low country.
- How many clicks do you have what are the stats?
- What are you offering? Where is your traffic comin from?

Hacks are a good niche overall
