Looking for some help in Choosing Laptop vs Desktop

Hi Guys,

I know this is not a tech forum. But as most of you IMs use computers for running software/bots and browsing multiple tabs, I think you can help me from your experience in choosing the best computer for my needs.
Right now, I have a Dell Inspiron 15 with 4GB RAM and upgraded Samsung EVO SSD which runs really smoothly but it's not good enough for running software for a long time.
So I wanted to buy a new computer and narrowed down my options to these two:
ASUS M32CD Desktop (Core i5, 8GB DDR4, 1TB, Windows 10)
and
Dell Inspiron i7559-763BLK 15.6" Full-HD Gaming Laptop (Core i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX960M)

Here are my questions:

• Would it be efficient and beneficial to run IM software on a Laptop/Desktop or should I just buy a VPS?
• Is there a need to spend another CAD1000 on a computer or should I just stick with my Inspiron?

I have HP workstation laptop with i7 8GO of RAM, its very efficient in IM,

take a look into the HP Z workstation series,

What on earth are you running to need specks like that? I have a shitty 10 year old desktop with a single core processor and 1.5 gb ram i use to run an imacro on a flash website 24/7 and it runs fine. Just gotta learn to keep your shit tuned up.

we use a high specs pc/laptop to use multiple task at ounce, and now win10 has fancy designs which need a good pc to run smoothly ,

you will need to run proxy scraper, scrapebox and all other tools of IM, so to run them at ounce you will need good specs,

i5 which model? which RAM?, graphic cards on desktop?

They seem both quite "cheap".
Rather build desktop yourself.

What exactly do you need such high specs for? depending on your needs you can probably get a cheaper PC or laptop (whichever you choose) and still be able to cover your needs.

You shouldn't get a laptop if you're planning to have it run for longer than 6 hours a day.
You'll exhaust the laptop too fast, since cooling isn't as good as a desktop.

Thanks for your suggestion man. But I'll choose Dell or Asus. No offense to HP users but me and my whole friend circle have some bad luck with HPs. Man, they must have thermal heaters or something inside their machines. 3 of my friends and one relative bought HP computers even when I told them not to and now they all face heating problems.
Surprisingly, I have seen people recommending HP Laptops in other threads so it must be working really good for them. But for me, HP is bad from every prospective.
Last time, as my friend's HP was restarting automatically, I called HP support and after asking about the computer info, they simply said that they won't tell me anything if I don't renew the guarantee first. I don't expect them to solve the issue for free. But at least tell me what's wrong with it.
On the other hand, Dell has treated me like their son-in-law since 2009

Honestly, my 4 GB 256 GB SSD Dell Inspiron can't handle more than 15 threads in SB. It takes forever to scrape simple keywords. I have SB and GSA and even thinking of buying FL but haven't been able to earn any money by using these software up until now.

Exactly, and that's part of the reason why I'm also open to buying a VPS instead.

3.3 GHz Core i5 6400, DDR4 RAM and GPU Intel H110. While Laptop has 4 GB Graphics Card as you might have seen.
And I've tried searching for parts, assembling is rather expensive. Asus and Dell really worked their magic on these models.

I want to run software, keep Firefox and Two Chrome open all the time with around 20 to 30 tabs. And 4 GB graphics for rare fun

I'm already trying. Although not making that much money right now. But by the time I might be able to make some, I am pretty sure none of them would be available anymore

Go with the laptop. It doesn't restrict you to sit at one location and you can even go outside in a coffee shop and work from there.
