It took me about 18 months starting from 10/1000. But I took it fairly slow and you might get there faster if you're more aggressive.

If it's a legit account, you can usually call them up and get higher limits pretty easily. Don't know if they will give you the 5000 limit you want, but it should at least get you a head start.

I've been stuck at 1K sales limit for a while now, it's a real pain.

It took me a hard work and 3 month to get ther from 10 listings and 1000$ limit, it's easy if you stay active ebay seller and have some positive feedbacks and sales. Also the negative thing is that you can only increase limits once a month via ebay costumer support center, but i believe there are some fluke ones and sometimes ebay increase your limits on it's own.

usually within 2-3 months they automatically raise the limits if you get good feedback and max out on sales each month

If you want to increase your limits keep positive feedback going and obviously MAX YOUR LIMITS

If you dont max your limits you wont get an increase, why would you? you can reach your current limits therefore ebay assumes it's enough for you.

Iv been selling for like 2 months now and am already at 2K..will call in a few days to get an increase when I max my limits

If you are making regular sales and getting closer to your limits then ebay will often give you an automatic increase in two weeks time, as opposed to having to wait 30 days. Have also heard some luck calling in and getting limits raised by a rep prior to the 30 days, that however is going to be hit or miss depending on who you get, they basically just called a few times until they got a willing rep.
