Does anyone know what tactics/methods this person or many similar channels have used to make such rapid progress?

It wont allow me to post a link, but the user ID is "Facts Verse" on youtube.

I am looking to make a channel with a similar type of content (my content will be all original made by me), but dont know where to start in terms of getting views and subscribers.

First you need quality videos. Then you need exposure.

You can pay for ads and get exposure or you can post the video around the internet on niche related places.
 
You cant get subscribers, at least not the real ones without not good content, without outstanding content that will go viral.

And this is like asking how can some singer get so much fans, well you need to offer them something they never heard or saw before
 
I just looked into his channel, the content he is producing seem pretty interesting and entertaining.

Just make sure every single video you produce are very good content, make them as good as you can and stop worrying about the views. Yes it's upsetting seeing all videos get 1-10 views per video, BUT in a few months that should change. A lot of people will start to run into your videos and as long as all of your other videos are also 100% high quality then those viewers will be clicking on all your other videos nonstop and when google sees that it'll give power to your channel. You'll also convert those viewers into engaging subscribers & google will give you a boost like how they're giving a boost to Facts Verse. I went to check out his channel and I saw at least 5 videos of his cause it was addicting. Google will reward him for this.

If half of your videos are crap then Google will see a huge bounce rate when they see viewers click off your channel too early & shove your channel at bottom of the ladder so just make sure to have every single video awesome as hell. Never ever think about adding 1 crappy video into your channel or else it might damage your channel by a lot.

Would you happen to know or atleast give a few hints as to how it is possible to use all the photos such as how this channel is using them without getting into copyright trouble?

Or does it come under fair use? He does however have adsense on this channel so he is using them for commercial purposes?
 
You have to create good content that's true but it's only a small part of the game.

Most important things come here:

1. Ranking
2. Promotion (can be anywhere reddit, twitter, fb viral posts etc.)
3. Paid Ads

You have to be a little creative, pay the right people and companies and eventually you will get there.
 
Here is what I think you should do first find out good keywords facts verse might be ranking on youtube for certain keywords which might have lead to more subscribers or social media promotion...social media is expensive one so If i was you I would find some good keywords i want to rank my channel for then create a channel on that relevant keyword and then upload quality videos find some good views providers ask for at least 5k views mobile and desktop both (make sure they give original) and at the same time blast the url with GSA too it has worked for my company channel but do your research properly before going ahead...
 
i have seen this guy's channel quite a bit, but something seems a litlle fishy, because almost every video he posts goes viral, getting more views than he has subcribers, 3 videos he had got almost 1million views in the first day, when he is using title's and keywords that have been used many times by other channels.
 
The real suspect thing about his videos is the extremely high numbers of dislikes his video has. Something around 25% on the high end might be normal. Being 1/3 dislikes is really suspect.

It indicates that people are seeing this video that don't want to see it.

My guess is that he is quite possibly buying very large amounts of YouTube traffic to forcibly make his videos go viral. He'll having to be bidding on terms/videos that are irrelevant to get such high numbers he is getting. That is why people are disliking it. His video got advertised to people that don't care for that content.

Something strange though is that on Monday the 22nd of February his subscriber count increased by 34,633 and he got 3,548,817 views. This is out of step with previous days and his usual average. On the 10th of February he had 3,956,953 views but only gained 5,612 subscribers. That is a very strange discrepancy.
 
I guess there is a big network on FB behind this. That would at least explain the low amount of new subs compared to videoviews. YT linked on FB generates more videoviews but people are less likely to visit YT after that and subscribe.
 
I am pretty sure all these views comes from a huge FB networks (pages). Building a channel takes time and alot of effort.

Facebook traffic could very well be the source and would explain the dislikes.

The great thing for this guy is that the dislikes actually help the video.
 
Seems like its some sort of facebook viral script. Go on facebook and type "factsverse" in the search bar. You will see accounts saying "I liked a @YouTube video from @factsvers" with a video link. Definitely not natural. see image below.
