New website, how should I host and service?

I am starting a business which does not sell products, but sells an online service.

What tools do I need to create this website and to sell my service on the website?

I am most likely going to use Wordpress to create my website and "HostGator" as the hosting company
for this website.

Is this a bad decision?
Any help with someone that has SOME experience in building a website/selling a service is much welcomed.

Like, how do I go about creating a "buying" option on my website for a service? Because this service will
be done by myself. Would they just pay and I tell them to leave their contact info.? Or is there a better way?

Try Woocommerce, I used it and works perfectly if you are going to sell services or whatever.

Thats a low budget! You can get free hosting until you make some money to invest on better hostings!

You already you took a better decision. I also like WordPress site but my hosting company was different from you. That's no matter.
If you will sell product or provide service others it's not the main fact. First you have to create these site following better strategy. I'm a professional affiliate and already owner of two popular sites. Where I'm running own business and collecting traffics from other media. I also used wordpress method. I heard NASA official website also created following these method. By the way what about your service? Take better strategy you'll able to earn more it may via product selling or other service. With $10/month can get you a nice VPS. It might be overkill in terms of resources, but a VPS by a good provider has a significantly lower downtime than shared hosting. Also, if you're going to use Woocommerce as a platform to sell online services, I recommend a VPS.

I recommend HostHatch.com (not affiliated). Their prices are cheap, they provide a very good service, and I met the owners personally. Professional lads and very knowledgeable.

Just make sure that you can afford $4/month (HostHatch price) for the first year. Changing your mind and then downgrading can be a hassle.

I just created a Wordpress website using InMotionHosting.com, and so far have no complaints. I took their $6/mo plan and couldn't find anyone offering a better package. Simple one-click installs for most software, as well as the standard CPanel and E-Mail management tools.

Originally, I purchased a VPS through Vultr to host my website on but it was a nightmare to set everything up manually and the price was the same. Take your time and look around to see what might suit you best, but InMotion definitely has my recommendation for now.
