I came across a site that has some amazing backlinks but when i did the wayback analysis i noticed pages with Chinese content.

Im debating if i should still purchase it, fix up the site where the good backlinks are pointing and disavow any garbage.

Im curious to know if anyone has any experience with this and how it turned out! Thanks.

I should add, the backlinks are related to my niche.

I would like to know this too.

come up with many domains like this.
related to my niche, have backlinks from authority site, but there was 1 or 2 year the domains used is by chinese or japanese.
the anchor texts were good.

Personally I would buy it
If its not de-indexed

If its not deindexed wouldn't it still be valuable to 301 to a T1???

I buy them if the backlink profile isn't spammy and i translate the content o see if it isn't porn or pills or something like that... you can find tons of good domains that are left because most so called SEOers think chinese characters means automatically spam, what do you have to lose $10-?

I have found great domains this way that are doing perfectly, just buy it, put up a site see how it indexes and if you can get any rankings at all for you content, if yuo do, link it to your money site and enjoy the juice.

Long time ago I came across a site in the bicycle niche, cool domain, bought it immediately. AFTER the fact, went and checked in archive to see what the site looked like before..

Chinese characters..

*Translate*

"Best thing to do for big dick is take this pill, big dick for everyone, big dick for all, buy now"

"Ffs..."

301 redirect with Bit`ly short url, using Bitly in this case as a filter for all the crap links.

What do you thing? It`s a chance to work i think

I bought one domain I needed from bargain bin (at GoDaddy) for $10 or something like that. Nobody wanted it cause it had some spammy links, from some 250 domains. I re-created the site and immediately went on No.1 for the keyword I thought it will hit No.1

Two days later it went out of top 500 results. I figured it was because of those spammy links so I collected them by simply downloading file from Open Site Explorer (MOZ), removed good links from tha tfile (there were maybe 10 good links) created disavow file and submitted through webmasters tools.
One week later domain is back on No.1 for desired keyword.

Draw your own conclusion

It depends. If you just have to register it, give it a try. Resurect the original content from archive.com and if it is indexed in google in 2-3 days and ranks for the domain name you should not worry.

There are so many good metrics that have been used by people in China/Japan/Russia or spammed to elevate the metrics. I'd rather avoid it to be safe.

It could still be useful, just put it to the right use. Like you could 301 it to another domain or to even a shortener.

Good illustration of what "trying it for yourself" is worth versus just blindly asking questions on a forum. Kudos on the score man.
