Who do people buy views? For example if someone buys a couple thousand high retention views, why do people do it? Does it actually help your video get a lot more real views since it has a lot of views already with good audience retention?

It used to help really well with ranking until it got abused... Now its all psychological and merely only a small factor in ranking videos on YouTube. Why psychological? The more higher retention views that you receive from top tier target countries, the more popular you look and the more likely people will watch your videos and subscribe to your channel.

I had too ! My first 5 videos were stuck at the range of 100-200 vies for weeks, after 1st 1,000 views I bought, it was a completely different story
