Alternatives to Already Spammed Web 2.0's

This is something that I just thought of and I'm about to test.

Web 2.0's seemed to be spammed to death and wanted to see if having links from alternative sources would help, but they also have to be free like Web 2.0's are.

There are some hosts that offer free hosting but you can only use a subdomain. Places like:

- https://byet.host/ DA56
- http://www.squirrel-host.com/ DA46

Seem to have a decent DA to post to.

I'll be testing this out on an unused keyword but wanted to see if anyone else has experience in this before I put too much time into it to test.

I am newb for SEO, so i will leave testing to you.
But i did quick scrape for expired squirrel-host.com , find two with ok metrics...
I will give it a go with byet, and see how it goes.....

I managed to do it with squirrel, but when registering byet the domain goes byethost#.com and # is a number, and i have no clue how to scrape those....

I just used the wrong numbers, will set up scrapebox for tonight and we will see how it goes....

I went through one of the top free web hosts on the SERPs. I opened up my Scrapebox account and typed in site:freehostname.com and scraped some keywords alongside it.

I then filtered the duplicates and trimmed to root, then used the add-on to scan authority of each one. The DA of this host was 46 and there were many pages with a PA of 30+ so pretty damn good.

Problem was that they were all taken. A decent portion of them were registered by the same guy who did a 301 redirect with them to his money site.

I then plugged his money site into semrush.com to check some of his rankings and he's ranked on the 2nd page for some extremely competitive keywords.

This may be something worth looking into a little more.

i was checking my competitor backlinks for one of my webiste and i found they were using a lot of blogs from: http://blogse.nl/

seems pretty powerful.. unusually it had some trust flow in majestic .. maybe its a fluke but i made a blog and linked to my site few days later the backlink came up in majestic with trust flow even though i made no links to it.. and it was a brand new subdomain i made

OP, so you're essentially talking about building yourself a PBN on a subdomain. This is fine... but its not as powerful in the long run as if you went full force and just built out a PBN site on its own domain. I like your idea as a supplement to having a PBN but not a replacement for. What you are talking is no different than running a site.wordpress.com tier one. I'd advocate a static site on a private domain. You can buy domains from Godaddy for like $1 and you can get hosting for under $20/year easily.

Not what I'm doing. I mentioned later on in my recent post that I'm finding some high ranking domains using subdomains with high PA as well as DA and doing a 301 redirect.

I have a PBN and Web 2.0's but I was just looking for something new and I stumbled upon it. And HudsonHicks also found that his competitor was using them. So it may be something and it may be not. Just something I did on my lunch break because I didn't know you could register expired subdomains with high PA.

I tried using free hosting as a PBN some time ago. I remember I had a difficult time getting some to index. Seems like most free hosts use the same IP for all accounts on that host and some Google doesn't like very much.

Indexing these subdomains would be very difficult than indexing Web 2.0s. Expired subdomains would be a different story and could be a good addition to the existing link set up.
