The forum we are talking is known as Black Hat World.

If you treat SEO in proper manner, there will be no issue or penalty, just follow the simple steps such as:

1. Links on just reputed websites
2. Links from diversified sources
3. Maintain the link velocity
4. More focus on anchor variation; use branded and naked URL more than exact match
5. The most important part is Drip Feeding as much as you can. If you build all the links in a 1 week or 2 its may create some problem.
