Good place to buy domain

Hello, guys I'm looking to buy a cheap domain name for $1-2, nothing fancy.
I wanna use it for url forwarding so won't be needing hosting to go along with that.
I'd like .com(preferable) or .net
Any suggestions? I want the process to be easy and if I can get whois privacy all the more better.

Godaddy sucks but with a coupon you can get a 99 cents domain name. I personally use namesilo. I'd rather pay a few bucks more..

As Seo1337 says, there are regular GoDaddy coupons for cheap .coms.
Namesilo you're paying $8.99 but you get free privacy for life with them.
Namecheap do promos and you get free privacy but just for first year.

In case you want to avoid GoDaddy, 1and1 sells them for 0.99$ for the first year as well.

can you name any other registrar better than godaddy + please, skip those who can't provide 24/7 phone support.

rubbish.. godaddy is great (just have to remember that nothing is perfect in this world).

offtopic question - where do you keep .nl and .be domains? .. I have few 2letter .be names (7 to be precise) and at the moment I'm using transip.

of course, that domain providers mention in this thread is one of the biggest on the world, so they are very well secured. You can also pay via paypal with them
