Make a choice, do you want auto generated content or high quality content, you can't have both. The best auto generated stuff is passable, but a long way off from high quality.

I don't think there is any software that will produce content that would match most people's definition of 'high quality'

It's not really software, but if you mean that you are looking for a service which can auto generate content that reads well, and the articles are somewhat informative, then Article Builder can do the job. The problem is it's heavily used by people for spamming, so you wouldn't want to use these articles on your site. They are basically very well spun articles.

The terms "high quality" and "auto generated" don't go together well. For tier 2 AUTO generated content you can use Kontent Machine, the software is a beast.
