Say my keyword is "beach balls".

However, beachballs domain isn't available. But beachball and bestbeachballs domains(or any random word before/after it) are available.

"beach ball" has way less searches than "beach balls". So should I take beachball or bestbeachballs as my domain in this scenario? It's for an amazon micro niche affiliate site.

you should go for beachballs as it dosn't add a third word in the keyword. you should get the results for both keywords "beach ball" and "beach balls". But bestbeachballs is way too out of the keyword.

I don't see any reason to not buy bestbeachballs.com. It's best to not have the exact match domain. Bestbeachballs.com will rank just as good as beachballs.com

None of you got the point.. beachballS isn't available but beachball is..

try beach-balls.com I have seen many sites rank using that trick.

You get both. Use "BeachBalls" as the main site and use "BestBeachBalls" as a buffer site for your blackhatlinks.

Will this count as an EMD?

I see why everyone ITT is telling me to take beachballs, I made a small mistake in the thread. To clarify: beachballs is taken but beachball isn't.

Obviously it would depend on what the real product is but personally I would still take both, but on this occasion I would use "BestBeachBalls" as the main site and "BeachBall" as the buffer.

So you'd say bestbeachballs is better for SEO and will rank easier?

Yep I can give you some good examples try google "hr software" if you are in United states you will see one domain as such ranking for it and it is highly competitive keyword.

Do what Asif WILSON Khan said. It's a good strategy. I'd also block all the spiders from crawling the buffer
except Google, Bing, Yahoo and maybe Aol.

Take both - you can build bestbeachballs as a really good buffer, rank it for some KWs, and link to your main site - that'll make a it a perfect backlink!

As I said to you, I would buy both, so it wouldn't really matter.
If you have done your keyword research and analysed the competition then you should be able to rank either.
I would still go for best beach balls because (a) it sounds better and (b) according to your OP, it is getting more searches.

I agree with being able to rank either but I personally wouldn't use the domain name with best or top in the url.

You can always rank for best widget just by your on page.

It's not getting any searches with the best in front of it, just beach balls itself. But bestbeachballs does sound better yeah.

I'm still torn on whether I should use beach-balls or beachball.. It probably doesn't matter but I like everything to be optimal.
Thanks for all the advice guys!

I'd just buy beachball because you can always handle ranking for the plural version
of it by your onpage.

As you have stated that it is micro niche affiliate site, so choosing bestbeachballs as your money site is the way to go (as suggested by WILSON above). This name looks more realistic as an affiliation website rather than beachball.

Did u try beach-balls ? That is if you are too worried about that "s" in the end else you can go with the other advices here.
