Copy Editor Needed For Music & Lifestyle Website

Hi all,


I'm currently seeking a Copy Editor to post and edit pre-written articles for a popular music and lifestyle website.


(I?ll be as in depth as possible within this job advert so you know what to expect, and justify the low rates of pay.)


This is a very low skilled job (pretty much just copy and paste), so I am looking to pay the lowest rates as it basically just takes time to post these articles.

The process:


> I send you an email with a headline, media link (YouTube/SoundCloud/Vimeo etc) and article copy.


> You edit/proofread the article copy


> Tag a relevant Twitter handle


> Post to Wordpress


You need experience:


> Proofreading articles for editorial consistency (spelling, grammar etc)


> Sticking to editorial guidelines (these will be provided: bolding, italics etc)


> Posting articles on Wordpress in the correct categories, and adding relevant tags


> Posting articles using the HTML side, rather than the WYSIWYG

You seem to be confused about what your job entails. Editing/proofreading takes a lot of time. It's definitely not just copy/paste.

Agreed, however I use the term Editing/Proofreading lightly for this job as it's literally just scanning them for paragraph issues.

So essentially it's copy and paste, then a quick read.
