My failed experiment with PBN

I've made my own PBN about 6 months ago. I have purchased expired domain, mostly through Godaddy auctions because by my logic - if they weren't dropped, they are still fresh and it's probably easier for Google to find dropped domains than those that weren't dropped.

I have checked out the link profile + archive.org + other stats of all of them. I have paid about 80$ on average per domain. Different registrars, private whois.

For hosting I have used cheap hosting providers (1-2$ per month for each).

I have published about 10 articles on each one of them and only made a few links on each one. Contact, privacy, social profiles, premium WP themes, deleted the WP footprints...

30% of them got deindexed (1 of them didn't even have any outbound links yet, but it was banned after 2 months).

My sites didn't move as much as they should. The average metrics of domains were: trust flow 15+, CF up to 20, DA/PA 15+/15+. Most of them were even from the same niches. Example: If I'd have a site selling furniture, I'd buy a domain that was owned by a home design blogger / furniture store / etc. I won't even go into the details how much time have I spent hunting for domains.

What the hell have I done wrong? I think it's time for a PBN vol.2. Luckily I have a few sites making decent money, but I have ranked them the hard way and I don't want to do that any more. Any help appreciated.

First of all why the hell you are paying 80$ for a domain? logically you can invest this money into a custom scraper and find unlimited domains, do not waste so much in the beggining. Every cent matters, use coupons, fake info (private whois is not required).

Next, it looks like you did everything right and beyond but still got 30% deindextion rate doesn't make sense.
You left some footprint somewhere, maybe using the same registar account, maybe same email for all, maybe interlinked between your blogs?

I suggest you to recheck your steps and compare them to the "advanced" tutorials here about how to build a PBN, I guess you missed something.

One last thing, do not use Chrome when working with the PBN.

Did you use private whois for all of them?
Did you use the same email address?
What about the "cheap hosting" was it on the same hosting company?
Did you find any relation between the 30% that got deindexed?

Alright guys. What's with the different email addresses? You mean different email addresses for buying domains? I didn't know it matters because I've bought private whois for all of them.

Should I create a different account for registering each domain?

I've always suspected the cheap hosting and it might be one of the reasons for this fail as well.

I've bought the content from legit sources, articles passed the Copyscape. And I have never used Chrome for making my PBN, I used Mozilla and I have never logged in to my Google account through it, I was extra cautious about that.

What? Either you are in the niche where you didn't really check the competition and that's why your sites don't budge or you are doing something wrong with your PBN. I had PBN with a lot lower metrics and ranked on #1 for low competition niches.

Exactly. From what i read here. Its a mistake the 1$ hosting for a pbn. Maybe it's the main problem.

I'm not sure I follow when people talk about using different IPs for hosting and registering sites for a pbn. Does this mean that you simply use a proxy when you register it and have access to it or does it just mean you need a new account with a different registrar and host?

Also this may be a stupid question but when creating web 2.0s do you need a proxy for each one as well as a new email. My common sense would say that there is no way for google to see this information but I could be wrong.

Cheap hosting might the reason for deindexing. Also, have you tried doing some teired backlinking too?

No worries mate. It's all on this site, that's why when you want to learn something read a few threads even about the same topic. Then you'll be able to piece all of it together and it saves a lot of time and money experimenting or guessing where you screwed up when all it took was 10 more minutes to read it on another thread.
