Hi, I want to buy a domain at GoDaddy for 1$, but I don't want to pay them 9$ extra for whois privacy since the whole thing is stupid anyways. I want to use fake info, but I'm a bit bothered by the fact that I'd be using fake info on the WHOIS and then paying with my credit card which has my real info. Does this matter or not?

No it doesn't matter at all. Except that be careful when using email ids, use a real email id as else you will not be able to verify domain ownership email after purchase.

Using fake info while registering is ok, but you hosting provider can check it and mark your order as fraud

I've done this many times, just be sure to write down all the details of the "other" you who is registering the domain. Once I had to call in to verify a purchase (with another registrar) and I couldn't remember the email and name I used ( I know it sounds really stupid). I had to let the transaction cancel and then register somewhere else. However GD doesn't seem to check much and I havent had any problems from them.

Some will close your account unless you show ID. This happened with me on either Godaddy or name cheap, can't remember which one.
