Regarding the 15 post limit for replying to PM's

Hi

I recently posted a couple of threads in the freelancer section. Afterwards I discovered that I am unable to respond to PM until I have made 15 posts. is there any way that this restriction can be removed by an admin so I can proceed? Or should I just post replies another 10 times on random threads?

WTF? I have visited your profile page. You have started 5-6 new threads. You just need 15 comment posts to unlock that feature not 15 thread creations, LOL!

Fyi - posting multiple similar threads or posting replies on other threads without any value like "great, thanks for the advice" is spamming.

We want to see you engage with the forum publicly before you start spamming other member's inboxes. Any spam posts are more likely to get deleted and get you banned or infracted than get you to the point where you can send PM's.

I understand why this restriction is in place. For example, you do not want malicious people to be registering quickly as a new user, then spamming everybody afterwards, etc.

Have you considered restricting the ability to send out a new message, but retaining the ability to respond to incoming messages?

This might be a good compromise, whilst at the same time would not impact genuine users who are only wishing to respond to incoming items?
