Shopify + AliExpress + Facebook = Cash ?

Hello Community ,

So I was bored today and decided to spend 6 + hours researching this whole shopify + AliExpress money making method. Every post that I read says that one must have an influx of traffic from Facebook or Instagram (SOCIAL MEDIA). Being that I'm fairly new in this market I have no traffic. That's when it hit me that my "niche" can be easily sold to the people that surround me , by me I mean the people that live within 150miles of my location.

Now the question that I have is , can I market my "niche" through Facebook to the surrounding residents of my town with FaceBook Ad's? and if so do you think this an effective approach ? Do I invest a lot of money into Ads because these people are close to me ?

I'm 100% confident about my product drawing Interest of the community.

hey theirs actually several threads on here about getting conversions useing facebook traffic. Depending on your niche you might want to consider a wider demographic then just your town

Your town might be a good starter, what is your main offer for your retail business? Amazon has made it easier and in some cases cheaper to shop for products under their branded name. What do you offer? 99% of failure comes from not being able to understand why people buy from you rather than Amazon or another seller.

It does not matter where your 'people' are located.

You should focus on local if you are selling something relevant to your location, or something that should be local.

For example, if you are in Seattle, you can advertise something like 'Seatle Funny Umbrellas', thus making it look like an offline local shop.

But if you look to dropship a general use item, you should go US-wide, becuase you will have to reach a certain demographic group. And the larger the demo group the better. In addition, with dropship you have no inveotry costs, and fullfilment is not your concern. Therefore, focusing localy without an 'edge', or 'angle' is pointless.
