Hey I'm about to purchase an account. How do I make sure that the original owner can't log back in and take it once I've purchased it? I changed the email, the password, and the phone number. Is there anyway that they can still get back in?

Edit to add: I've already purchased the account, what can I do to ensure that it doesn't get stolen.

Maybe possible, since it has the original log in details. But time consuming process, not sure that is worthwhile. Better buy from trusted sellers.

if you don't trust your supplier, don't buy accounts! create them yourself. theoretically, they could get it back, but do you really think they care?

edit: thought u were talking about purchasing new accounts. If you were talking about purchasing a big account only buy from trusted sellers for example here on bhw. Try to choose someone who's active and scan his "account" before buying.

there's always a chance of you losing your account that's why you should choose wisely.

They can always recover the account.

If it's a big account, let's say 50K+ they could just do this:

1. Email Instagram support saying their account was hijacked/bruteforced/whatever

2. Provide original registration email, previous account names and estimate of creation date etc.

3. Get a reset password email to the original registration email.

And boom, you just wasted your money.
Try to find someone with tons of reputation on a forum (that they wouldn't want to lose over $100) and use a moderator middleman etc.

Although I would honestly recommend spending the money on shoutouts since people don't sell their account because they have amazing engagement and growth, they sell them cause they want to get rid of them.

I don't necessarily agree with your last point. Most of the times, it's exactly the way you said but selling account (if you have many) could be a good way to make some money. There are still people who grow many accounts and choose only a few to monetize, selling the others. Doesn't necessarily mean they're bad.

I mean, before even buying an account you should always check the engagement etc. especially when a pic is posted.

DAMN! I already purchased it before checking back on this thread. What can I do to make sure that he can't get it back?

You can't do anything since in Instagrams eyes you stole it if the owner wants it back.

Simple fact: Sign an agreement with him.

I hope it really helps else I don't know what are the other best alternatives?

Buy with a good research is necessary, because once you get the account you can change the Id password etc easily.

To add on to this, if you two are based in the same country you can make a legal agreement so if he's caught fiddling with the account you can basically take him to court.

I would only do this with massive account tho.

First think is buy from reputed sellers . .

Get all details accounts (Email id , passwords, with Phone numbers)

Change the all passwords

Change all recovery datas . .

they can just login with facebook and change everything back... thats why I'd not buy an account.
even if you link a facebook it doesnt matter only the first connected facebook is eligible to recover the account. They dont need any info as in password, email, mobile.
JUST click on login with facebook and you are screwed.

Yeah. Definitely won't be purchasing anymore accounts in the future. Not worth the risk. But luckily this one was never linked to Facebook.
