Getting Your CB Product Noticed

Am just launching a new product at CB and have a few questions...

Does anyone know how many copies of your product you have to sell to start getting some gravity and appear in the market place as one of the best selling items ?

When selling your product yourself is it worth pushing sales through a few different affiliate accounts (eg your own, or those of your friends) to help boost gravity ?

Any benefit of pushing some traffic (and hopefully sales) thro' top CB affiliates to get them to notice your product id in their stats ?

Haven't ever sold any products though CB but I'd imagine if you started off with a higher commission rate you'd draw much more effort towards people trying to sell your product, than once it gains some gravity lower the commission rate a bit.

Definitely do this. Hopefully your friends will pay you the extra commission, if they are your friends, but I'd do what he said.

ask your friends to buy it and return their payment via paypal. When they buy it price it lower, when you get some gravity and some eye balls. scale up the price and the commision

Promote your own product through 10 different affiliate accounts. These accounts are yours, of course. You'll make ALL the money from your sales, won't have to bother with any refund to friends BS and will get credit as if 10 different addiliates are selling your stuff.

I have a clickbank product. I get around 2 sales a month lol. I look at it as paying for my sites. Even if you have a bad product you will make some cash. I got an ebook with reseller rights and made a cool landing page, alot of affilates back my product. gravity stays around 2.02

Now I know I want to get my product listed. I've always supposed that low gravity products didn't get sales. I don't know why.

Great description, and easier to follow than CB's. Their FAQs say:

Number of distinct affiliates who earned a commission by referring a paying customer to the vendor's products. This is a weighted sum and not an actual total. For each affiliate paid in the last 8 weeks we add an amount between 0.1 and 1.0 to the total. The more recent the last referral, the higher the value added.

However, even what they say is not 100% accurate. In fact, if an affiliate gets extra sales, the grav WILL jump (even though it's the same affiliate), although by less. I've seen it on my products.


To answer the OP's Q:

1. If you make sales using affiliate links this would gain grav, while using direct links wouldn't help grav at all.
2. Two affs making one sale each give you more than 1 aff making two sales. But one aff making 2 sales gives you more than 1 aff making 1 sale only (de-facto, and despite what CB's FAQs say)
3. If you buy with your own (multiple) aff accounts - remember you need to make the minimum payment threshold to get paid, and there's a ccommission on every paycheck.
4. If your friends agree to coop with you and refund commissions you make through their links - great (but maybe you'll have to return a favor)
5. In both cases - if you sell to buyers, that's great, but if you fake sales - remember that you pay CB a nice commission on each sale! (so faking sales means advertising expenditure with obscure returns)
6. Using super-aff's hoplinks is a nice idea (hmmm, why didn't I think of it...). Only problem is - if it's a nice commission per sale, you're actually giving them money for free, and no promise they'll even notice. If the commission is low - good chance they won't push you even if they do notice... One thing, though: if you want to email tem saying "I used your hoplink to show how this baby converts" make sure you quote REAL results. Don't try faking, as getting caught will burn you.

I am starting to get my first sales and I get more traffic everyday.
Lesson 2 : Provide :
1) Affiliate tools (banners,articles etc)
2) Write a good description

You can't always go by the gravity. I personally don't. I am by far the best affiliate of my products. And when I choose other products, I don't just go by the gravity. Landing page, niche, etc all go into it.

Good explanation, but not quite right.

Every affiliate who made a sale (or 1000) within the last 8 weeks will raise your gravity anywhere between 0.1 and 1.0, depending on WHEN the sale occured.

The more recent the sale is, the higher the raise will be.

If I make a sale TODAY of a product, it will raise grav by 1.0
If it occured about 8 weeks ago, this affiliate will raise your gravity by 0.1
As mentionned before, an affiliate cannot give you more than 1.0 of gravity.

But believe me, if you have 50.15 of gravity for examples, chances are you have WAY MORE than just 50-51 affiliates promoting
