Myspace Comeback?

I've noticed my myspace traffic is starting to pick up a little. Makes me think that people are rediscovering it. All things go full circle, though. The next hot trend can be an old hot trend.

Anyone else having similar experiences?

Yeah - I run several MySpace sites, and I can agree with what you're saying - the traffic is slowly coming back around - hopefully everyone is just about "twitter"ed out.....

I agree i have few 2005 accounts that have pick up big time in the last few months. To me its a good sine as I'm not much of a facebook or twitter kind of guy. lol I should be as i have read all sorts of interesting facts on making money off them other sites here at BHW.

Mine have been increasing over the whole month of June also. I think a lot of people are walking away from Twiiter back to Myspace because of the overload of marketers.

myspace is down almost 70% in terms of traffic. and myspace resource sites are dying even worse. there is really no need for myspace when people can easily just create a facebook page. it's a lot easier to maintain.

too much damn spam on myspace.

same i can say about facebook too. Currently facebook has also too much spam. I have take a look on denver based users in myspace from last 6 months.

I found there are 12000 new people signups in myspace from denver area in 6 months.

one thing about myspace is it makes your site more personalized and people love it...

I ask a friend to create a facebook a/c

Myspace could come back if it goes back to its roots and brings back 1.0 profiles.

They tried to be too much like Facebook bringing in the 2.0 stuff..

Myspace Music is what keeps myspace alive in revenue terms.

These are the things if myspace can do these then it will rock
1) Do not change layout or website coding too much
2) Allow a simple layout where users will love to browse all things
3) Disable automatic play of songs
4) Disable images in comments section
5) disable approval of comments , it is a waste of time i think
6) allow a simple chat feature like facebook, current chat feature is too buggy
7) send a warning email to user if they spamming myspace before deleting any profile
8) hire some freelancerss from 3rd world countries(India, bangladesh, pakistan, bhutan, phillipines, china) who will take a look on every myspace profile regarding spamming issue. If they take from USA it will take a too much money.

9) show only 10 comments in a myspace profile, rest comments should be in next page click.
10) show only top 10 friends, unnecessary it shows upto 40.
11) the event, group invitation feature should be simple as like facebook. The old event invite feature of myspace is excellent, from last 4 months, the new event invite feature is a buggy one.

12) do not allow flash or video content in comments or profile section.

@ iggypop - you're right about those old trends

@ LowTEG - I'm glad I've still got some old profiles hanging around - I don't like the 2.0 either - they will surely force them all to 2.0 soon enough though.

@ mrxinbollywood - seems like you want MySpace to be more like Facebook - then it will rock for you.


80% of your chosen changes, are readily available user controlled settings, like the approving of new comments, displaying images and videos in comments, also they block your account now and give you a CAPTCHA to enter to prove you are not a bot, instead of just deleting your profile like in the old days.

LOL @ #8 - If they delete my profile because I'm a spammer, I will just use another IP address and email address to reg a new account, that they will delete, causing me to create another, and It will eventually be deleted, and I shall create another etc......

You can currently select how many friends you want on your profile - between 1 and 40.

Agreed - MySpace Group invitations suck. I do prefer FaceBook's email friend invitation process, and group invitations are much easier to send to a HUGE list of people.


Chat could be much better - Maybe something more like an old AOL chatroom from the mid 1990's would be nice. Anyone recall AOL Version 3.0?

myspace is completely dead now. There is absolute no future in myspace marketing. I found myspace marketing is very rapidly going towards down down down.....

myspace is dead but im still cashing from MStracker aff that i have.and the important thing is you can still make it to the inbox once you send some kinda offer or messege on myspace.
