twitter conversion question

Hey everybody!

I just recently started marketing on twitter. Created a program for mass creating accounts/following and unfollowing.. just set up our test run with 1,000 accounts with a total of 57,000 followers.


I just ran an acai berry promotion through copeac and with 870 hits, 0 sales.

Does anybody have tips as to what they are marketing or the conversion rate you experience for these type of campaigns? Back in the day on myspace i was getting a 10-14:1 ratio and for this many hits to get 0 sales it seems as if something is really wrong. The creatives i'm using are completely randomized and fairly legit looking followed by a tinyurl link that goes to a landing page.



Any input would be much appreciated!

1,000 accounts with a total of 57,000 followers.

That averages out to 57 followers per account, which is quiet less. IMHO, the number of hits to conversions ratio varies depending on what you are promoting & also involves factors like how targeted your followers are.

yep agreed , you arent going to have a targetted traffic with mass account but even with that being said less than 1k uniques is way too early to tell anything.

you can make 500 - 1k sales with 57k followers.

thanks for the input guys, as far as targeting goes we are just doing search terms related to health/fitness/etc for acai. I am thinking perhaps the fact that it doesnt work combined with the need for a credit card number is making the conversion rate suck. Tomorrow i'm going to try an offer with a lower payout but higher conversion like naughty or nice just to try to get a more accurate representation of my traffic.

Maybe you guys are right though, <1k uniques isn't enough to tell, but i just figured by now I should have gotten something. Hopefully tomorrow is a different story :-[

1k accounts is a lot to promote just one offer or product.

If I were you and I had 1K accounts, I would distribute my targets over 10 - 15 products or offers.

BTW, what tools are you using to automate the work on all those accounts ?

Targeting followers isn't the same with Twitter as with most sites. Most people stop using Twitter within the first month so you're probably targeting people who don't even login anymore. I am very interested in your Twitter account creator if you are willing to cut some kind of deal, PM me. I have a rather vast knowledge of Twitter.
